Ipswich State High School is a state secondary school in the suburb of Brassall, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia, established in 1963, On the site of the original Brassall State High School. Simon Riley is the current principal since 2005. The biggest high school in Ipswich has approximately 2 thousand students currently attending as of May 2021. History (Before and 1960's) The Ipswich State High School originally came from a site in the main heart of the Ipswich (suburb), Queensland, inside The Queen Victoria Silver Jubilee Memorial Technical College before moving into the Brassall site in 1963. They were called "Ipswich State High School And Technical College". The School, while transportation, was called Brassall State High School in 1962. The Technical College remained at the original site until it was merched and moved into what is now know today as The Bremer Institute of TAFE. Allan Langer
Allan Jeffrey "Alfie" Langer AM (born 30 July 1966) is an Australian former multi-award-winning rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s and worked as an assistant coach for the Australian national team, the Queensland Maroons and the Brisbane Broncos. He was one of the pre-eminent s of his era, representing Australia on many occasions and holding the record for most State of Origin appearances, until being surpassed by his club, state and country team-mate Darren Lockyer. Brassall, Queensland
Brassall is a suburb in the City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. In the , Brassall had a population of 10,898 people. Geography Brassall has a southern boundary partially marked by the Bremer River and a western alignment along Ironpot Creek. The northern boundary follows the Warrego Highway. Brassall now incorporates part of the old suburb of Raymonds Hill. History The suburb name first appears on a plan drawn by surveyor James Warner on 6 October 1851; however, the origin of the suburb name is unknown. It was also known as Hungry Flats, as was a stop over for bullock teams that were transporting logs from Pine Mountain to Hancocks saw mill at North Ipswich. 1974 Brisbane Flood
In January 1974 a flood occurred in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia after three weeks of continual rain. The Brisbane River, which runs through the heart of the city, broke its banks and flooded the surrounding areas. The cyclone that produced the flood also flooded surrounding cities: Ipswich, Beenleigh, and the Gold Coast. In total, there were 16 fatalities, 300 people injured, 8,000 homes destroyed and an estimated A$980 million in damages. The Bremer Institute Of TAFE
The Bremer Institute of TAFE was a training provider in Queensland, Australia. It had six campuses, located at Bundamba, Goodna, Ipswich, Inala, Springfield and Boonah. The Bremer was one of Australia's Technical and Further Education (TAFE) Institutes.
