Iowa Telecommunications Services
Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc., commonly known as Iowa Telecom, provided local telephone service to former GTE customers in the U.S. states of Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, and Minnesota. Iowa Telecom was founded in 1999 as a partnership between Iowa Network Services and ING Barings. It acquired the assets of GTE Midwest, which served Iowa following Bell Atlantic's purchase of GTE. It had 257,700 access lines and served 435 communities in Iowa. In 2002 Iowa Telecom bought PC Partner Communications and Zumatel Communications. On February 7, 2008, Iowa Telecom bought Lakedale Communications, Sherbtel Comminuations, Conntections-ETC, and SOMA, all located in Minnesota. At that time it also acquired Willinet in New York. Newton, Iowa
Newton is the county seat of, and most populous city in, Jasper County, Iowa, United States. Located east of Des Moines, Newton is in Central Iowa. As of the 2020 Census, the city population was 15,760. It is the home of Iowa Speedway, Maytag Dairy Farms, and the Iowa Sculpture Festival. Alan Wells
Alan Peter Wells (born 2 October 1961) is an English cricketer. He played for Sussex from 1981 to 1996, where he was captain from 1992 to 1996. He then played for Kent from 1997 to 2000. In total he played 376 first-class matches in a career spanning twenty seasons, with a batting average of 38.57 and a top score of 253 not out (against Yorkshire at Middlesbrough in 1991). GTE Midwest served Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota, and included the former operations of Contel in Iowa and Missouri.
