Ionatana Tino is a Samoan rugby league and rugby union footballer who represented Samoa in the 2013 World Cup. Playing career A player for the Apia Barracudas in the Samoan local competition, Tino played for the Parkes Spacemen in the Group 11 Rugby League competition during the 2013 season. In 2013, Tino was named in the Samoa squad for the World Cup. The Samoa national rugby league team represents Samoa in rugby league football and has participated in international competition since 1986. Known as Western Samoa before 1997, the team is administered by Rugby League Samoa and are nicknamed Toa Samoa (English: ''Samoan Warriors''). Rugby league nines (or simply nines) is a version of rugby league football played with nine players on each side. The game is substantially the same as full rugby league, with some differences in rules and shorter games. Nines is usually played in festivals, as its shorter game play allows for a tournament to be completed in a day or over a single weekend.
