Ioannis Drymonakos
Ioannis Drymonakos (born 18 January 1984) is a Greek swimmer from Athens. He became the first ever Greek swimmer to hold a European swimming record by clocking a time of 1:54.16 seconds in 200 m butterfly event of the 2008 European Aquatics Championships final on 21 March 2008. In 2008, a few days before the Beijing Olympic Games he tested positive for banned drugs during a doping-control test. He was then acquitted of all charges for use of banned substances by the court, that decided it was impossible for him to procure the substance M3 1 He came back in 2010 winning the bronze medal at the European Championship in Budapest in the event of 200 m butterfly. Butterfly Swimming
The butterfly (colloquially shortened to fly) is a swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arms moving symmetrically, accompanied by the butterfly kick (also known as the " dolphin kick"). While other styles like the breaststroke, front crawl, or backstroke can be swum adequately by beginners, the butterfly is a more difficult stroke that requires good technique as well as strong muscles. It is the newest swimming style swum in competition, first swum in 1933 and originating out of the breaststroke. Speed and ergonomics The peak speed of the butterfly is faster than that of the front crawl due to the synchronous pull/push with both arms and legs, which is done quickly. Yet since speed drops significantly during the recovery phase, it is overall slightly slower than front crawl, especially over longer distances. European Short Course Swimming Championships 2006
The European Short Course Swimming Championships 2006 were held in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 December. The venue of the event was the aquatic center of Mäkelänrinteen uintikeskus, which last hosted a major event at the pre-Olympic 2000 European Aquatics Championships. Three world records (two in relays) and eight European records were broken during the event. Survivor Greece
''Survivor Greece'' is the Greek version of the popular reality show '' Survivor''. This version of the show was aired on Mega TV for two seasons from 2003 to 2004. While the series was titled ''Survivor'', it also took elements from ''Survivors predecessor '' Expedition Robinson'' such as that of the North and South teams. While the series was not considered a flop, it did not achieve the ratings that Mega TV had hoped for and at the end of its second season it was cancelled only to be brought back two years later for a joint season with Turkey. After 7 years, on 13 February 2017, the show came back on Skai TV with Sakis Tanimanidis as host. From season 6 (2018) Giorgos Lianos joined the show as a co-host. At 2020 Tanimanidis left the show and Lianos became the main host. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay.
