''Invisible Battalion'' ( uk, Невидимий Батальйон) is a documentary film by Ukrainian directors Alina Gorlova, Svitlana Lishchinska, and Iryna Tsilyk. Alina Gorlova
Alina Eduardivna Gorlova ( uk, Алі́на Едуа́рдівна Го́рлова; b. 1992) is a Ukrainian filmmaker, director, and screenwriter, specialising in documentaries. She was inducted into the Ukrainian Film Academy in 2017 and was named as an in 2021. Education Gorlova studied at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University from 2008 to 2012. Iryna Tsilyk (Ukrainian: Ірина Цілик; born 18 November 1982) is Ukrainian filmmaker and writer, the member of Ukrainian PEN International. The winner of the “Directing Award: World Cinema Documentary” for the film "The Earth Is Blue as an Orange" at 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Biography and career Iryna Tsilyk was born in Kyiv. Graduated from Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinematography and Television named by Ivan Karpenko-Kary summa cum laude. Maria Berlinska
Mariia Serhiivna Berlinska, or Mariya Berlinsʼka ( uk, Марія Сергіївна Берлінська; born 1988) is a Ukrainian military volunteer and women's rights advocate. She was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity in February 2014 and subsequently volunteered for the war in Donbas as an aerial reconnaissance drone operator. Returning from the front, Berlinska founded a free school to train other Ukrainian military volunteers in aerial reconnaissance. Beginning in 2015, Berlinska partnered with other female volunteer soldiers to champion women's rights and integration into the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She coordinated '' Invisible Battalion'', a series of three reports on Ukrainian military women's recognition, reintegration, and harassment, and produced two films on women veterans in collaboration with women filmmakers, that received international attention. 1+1 ( uk, один плюс один, translit=odyn plyus odyn) is a national Ukrainian language TV channel, owned by 1+1 Media Group. It has the second largest geographic reach of any channel in Ukraine, covering 95% of Ukraine's territory. History 1+1 TV channel was founded in August 1995, headed by its original president Alexander Rodnyansky who also was its general director from 1996 to 2002. Invisible Battalion () is a Ukrainian advocacy campaign, a sociological research group, and a civil rights project for gender equality in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Activities Invisible Battalion was launched in 2015 as a sociological survey coordinated by Maria Berlinska and written by Tamara Martsenyuk, Anna Kvit and Ganna Grytsenko, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy sociologists, on women's participation in the War in Donbass in Eastern Ukraine. The survey revealed a number of problems: Ukrainian legislation didn’t allow women to be assigned to combat positions, so they were enlisted as cooks, seamstresses, cleaners, accountants etc. while taking part in military combat operations as snipers, grenade launcher operators, reconnaissance soldiers, artillerists etc. This was done on semi-legal grounds.
