Hermano (band)
Hermano is an American stoner rock band formed in 1998. History Formed by producer Dandy Brown as a side project in 1998, the original lineup consisted of vocalist John Garcia (Kyuss, Unida, Slo Burn), bassist Dandy Brown, drummer Steve Earle ( Afghan Whigs) and guitarists Mike Callahan (Earshot) and David Angstrom. After passing tapes and CDs amongst each other for six months, the band members entered the studio in early 1999 to begin recording their debut album. The record was completed in the early 2000; however, it was another two years before it was released, due to an assortment of contractual obligations. The band released ''Only a Suggestion'' on Tee Pee Records in 2002. The release was followed by some brief touring in North America and Europe. During this period, drummer Steve Earle was replaced by Supafuzz drummer Chris Leathers; Leathers joined the band for the first time at the Azkena Festival in Spain in 2003. Hermano signed to Dutch label Suburban Records an ...

Stoner Rock
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep. Characteristics Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily distorted, groove-laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Due to the similarities between stoner and sludge metal, there is often a crossover between the two genres. This hybrid has traits of both styles, but generally lacks stoner metal's laid back atmosphere and its usage of psychedelia. Bands such as Weedeater, High on Fire and Electric Wizard creatively fuse both styles. Terminology The descriptor "stoner rock" may originate from the title of the 1997 Roadrunner Records compilation ''Burn One Up! Music for Stoners''. Desert rock is also used interchangeably as a descriptor, and was coined by a MeteorCity Records intern, arou ...

Regain Records
Regain Records was a Swedish-based independent record label. The label predominantly released death metal and black metal albums. Regain Records was founded from what remained of the former label, Wrong Again Records, by Per Gyllenbäck in 1997. Wrong Again Records had such bands as In Flames, Cryptopsy, Arch Enemy, and Naglfar among its ranks. Regain Records' first two releases were Deranged's '' High on Blood'' and Embraced's '' Amorous Anathema'', in late 1997. In the first two years of operation, business for the label was slow, due to lack of proper distribution. It was not until Regain Records re-released the first two in Flames albums, ''Lunar Strain'' and '' Subterranean'', which were previously released under the name Wrong Again Records, that the label began to prosper. In 2008, the label was involved in a legal dispute with the band Gorgoroth over their 2008 live album. Current and former acts * Acid Drinkers * Astaroth * Behemoth * Bewitched * Blackwinds * The ...
