International Socialists (Netherlands)
International Socialists ( nl, Internationale Socialisten, abbreviated IS) is a revolutionary, Trotskyist organisation in the Netherlands. It is part of the International Socialist Tendency led by the British Socialist Workers Party. History The International Socialists were founded in 1988 as ''Groep Internationale Socialisten'' (GIS). In the 1990s and early 2000s the organisation was mostly active in anti-fascist organising (against the Centrum Democraten, Pim Fortuyn and Geert Wilders) and anti-war protests, for instance against the Iraq War. in 2006 the group attempted to enter the Socialist Party (SP), however this project was abandoned after the SP leadership forced the IS members to choose between their SP membership or their IS membership. Central committee is the common designation of a standing administrative body of Communist party, communist parties, analogous to a board of directors, of both ruling and nonruling parties of former and existing socialist states. In such party organizations, the committee would typically be made up of delegates elected at a party congress. In Communist state, those states where it constituted the state power, the central committee made decisions for the party between congresses and usually was (at least nominally) responsible for electing the politburo. Anne Fleur Dekker
Anne Fleur Dekker (born 28 April 1994) is a Dutch publicist, feminist and journalist. Dekker has written opinion pieces and blogs for politically left-wing websites and magazines, and has been an activist for several causes. She is a former GroenLinks party employee in Hilversum. Dekker rose to nationwide prominence in March 2017, after politician Geert Wilders of the Party for Freedom (PVV) spread a message about a July 2016 tweet in which Dekker allegedly advocated for stoning Geert Wilders. Although Dekker claimed the tweet was written " sarcastically", this resulted in Dekker receiving threats ''en masse'', and she was forced to go into hiding. The European Social Forum (ESF) was a recurring conference held by members of the alter-globalization movement (also known as the Global Justice Movement). In the first few years after it started in 2002 the conference was held every year, but later it became biannual due to difficulties with finding host countries. The conference was last held in 2010. GroenLinks (, ) is a green political party in the Netherlands. It was formed on 1 March 1989 from the merger of four left-wing parties: the Communist Party of the Netherlands, the Pacifist Socialist Party, the Political Party of Radicals and the Evangelical People's Party, which shared left-wing and progressive ideals and earlier co-operated in Regenboog-coalition for the 1989 European Parliament election. After disappointing results in the 1989 and 1994 general elections, the nascent party fared particularly well in the 1998 and 2002 elections. The Party for Freedom ( nl, Partij voor de Vrijheid, PVV) is a nationalist, right-wing populist political party in the Netherlands. Founded in 2006 as the successor to Geert Wilders' one-man faction in the House of Representatives, it won nine seats in the 2006 general election making it the fifth-largest party in parliament. In the 2010 general election it won 24 seats, making it the third-largest party. At that time the PVV agreed to support the minority government led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte without having PVV ministers in the cabinet.
