International Gladiators 2
''International Gladiators 2'' was the second international competition of the ''Gladiators'' franchise, consisting of seven episodes. The series was filmed at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham during spring 1996. Six countries were represented, including United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Russia, Australia, and South Africa. This was the first series to feature the latter three countries, while Finland, who competed in the first International series, did not return for the second competition. While United Kingdom, United States and Australia all had their own domestic series, and sent champion contenders as well as carefully selected Gladiators, the other three countries did not have their own domestic series at the time of filming, although this was not indicated on screen. Mike Adamle
Michael David Adamle (born October 4, 1949) is a former American football player and sports broadcaster. Adamle was a sports anchor at other Chicago television stations, including WLS-TV from 1982 to 1989 before hosting '' American Gladiators'', a first stint at WMAQ-TV from 1998 to 2001, and then at WBBM-TV from 2001 to 2004 before returning to Channel 5 until 2017, when he was diagnosed with CTE-induced dementia which eventually forced his retirement. For much of 2008, Adamle worked for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in a variety of roles, including interviewer, play-by-play commentator, and General Manager of Raw. Suzanne Cox-Roberts (born 19 March 1972) is an English aerobic instructor. She was formerly a gladiator in the UK television show ''Gladiators'', in which she went by the name Vogue. Early life Cox was born in Barnet, London, England on March 19, 1972. She joined a local gymnastics club at a young age and reached regional level. She also competed in athletics in county meetings in 100 metres, shot put and long jump. Kim Betts (born Kim Williams 25 December 1971) is a British gymnast, bodybuilder, and TV presenter best known as Lightning in the ITV show ''Gladiators'', where she was the longest-serving female star. The first series of ''Gladiators'' began airing on Seven Network on 29 April 1995 following successful versions of the Gladiators format in United States, United Kingdom and Finland. The series closely resembled the UK series albeit with just four events and the Eliminator. Fifteen episodes were filmed in a progressive competition at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre between 24 March and 2 April. Kimberley Joseph and Aaron Pedersen presented the show whilst play by play commentary was by Tony Schibeci. John Alexander acted as referee and John Forsyth as assistant referee. Cheerleaders performed in the background of the events. Winners of the heats received a Sony music system and a selection of CD's valued to $2,000. The runners up received a set of gym apparatus. The second series of ''Gladiators'' began airing on Seven Network on 2 September 1995. Fifteen episodes were filmed for this series. Once again the shows were filmed at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre between 5 July and 19 July. Kimberley Joseph returned to host along with Mike Hammond, who replaced Aaron Pedersen. Play-by-play commentary was again performed by Tony Schibeci. John Alexander was unable to return due to his commitments to Wimbledon and was replaced by Mike Whitney. Once again, John Forsyth acted as assistant referee and the Kix cheerleaders returned to perform in the background of the events. In Heats 2 and 8, Forsyth was absent for unknown reasons, and was replaced by Neil Waldron for those Heats. Winners of the heats received a Sony PlayStation and sound system with CDs. American Gladiators (1989 TV Series)
''American Gladiators'' is an American competition television program that aired weekly in syndication from September 1989 to May 1996. The series matched a cast of amateur athletes against each other, as well as against the show's own "gladiators", in contests of strength and agility. The concept was originally created in 1982 by Johnny C. Ferraro and Dan Carr. Carr gathered the Gladiators and hosted the show, and Ferraro financed and produced the original competition at Erie Tech High School in Erie, Pennsylvania so Ferraro could have the event on film as to shop the new creation. In 1983 Ferraro financed, developed and packaged the American Gladiators as a movie project. In 1984 Carr sold his interest in a literary purchase to Flor-Jon Films. Diane Patricia Youdale (born 13 February 1970) is an English television personality, who is best known for her role as Jet on the television series ''Gladiators.''
