Inner Harbour ferry services was a name used for ferry services connecting suburbs on the foreshore of the inner Sydney Harbour with Circular Quay by commuter ferry. Cremorne Point Ferry Wharf
Cremorne Point ferry wharf is located on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of Cremorne Point. It is served by Sydney Ferries Mosman services operated by First Fleet class ferries. In June 2007, the wharf sank during a storm. It reopened in September 2007. On 8 October 2014, the wharf closed for a rebuild. The existing wharf was demolished, with a new one built reopening on 5 February 2015. Pyrmont Bay ferry wharf is located on the western side of Darling Harbour serving the inner-city Sydney suburb of Pyrmont. It is located adjacent to the Australian National Maritime Museum and close to The Star Casino. History The wharf closed on 22 April 2015 for a four-month rebuild. Barangaroo ferry wharf is a ferry wharf located on the eastern side of Darling Harbour, in Sydney, Australia. The wharf is the major public transport link of the Barangaroo precinct, situated west of the Sydney central business district. The complex consists two wharves, with provision for a third wharf in the future. It is serviced by Sydney Ferries' F3 Paramatta River and F4 Pyrmont Bay services. The wharf opened on 26 June 2017. Balmain East ferry wharf (also known as Darling Street ferry wharf) is located on Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of Balmain East. History The Balmain East ferry wharf has been operating since the 1840s as Balmain's main wharf. Originally, watermen offered the first services on demand in small rowing skiffs or sailing dinghies. McMahons Point ferry wharf is located on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of McMahons Point. It is served by Sydney Ferries Parramatta River and Pyrmont Bay services operated by First Fleet and RiverCat class ferries. History There has been a wharf at McMahons Point since at least 1839, when Blues Point Road was gazetted as a thoroughfare from there to the township of St Leonards. At the beginning of the 20th century, a large number of passenger ferries plied the route between here and the city, with services operating every 10 to 15 minutes. Six million passengers a year were served by the wharf. A tramway opened in 1909 to bring more commuters to the wharf. Circular Quay Ferry Wharf is a complex of wharves at Circular Quay, on Sydney Cove, that serves as the hub for the Sydney Harbour ferry network. Layout The Circular Quay ferry wharf complex consists of five double-sided wharves at 90 degrees to the shoreline, numbered 2 to 6. Wharves 3 to 5 are used exclusively by Sydney Ferries, wharf 2 west is used by Sydney Ferries, wharf 2 east is used by Manly Fast Ferries by while wharf 6 is used by other operators including Captain Cook Cruises. Each wharf has ticket selling facilities on both sides of the barriers as most other wharves do not have such facilities. Mosman Bay ferry wharf is located on Mosman Bay on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of Mosman. Old Cremorne Ferry Wharf
Old Cremorne ferry wharf is located on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of Cremorne. Old Cremorne Wharf, in Mosman Bay on the eastern side of Cremorne Point, was built in the nineteenth century, before the 1911 opening of Cremorne Point Wharf with tram connection on the western end of the Point. The original wharf was at the current location of the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club, but was relocated slightly north to its current location before 1905. The wharf has no road access and is only accessible by foot along the Cremorne Point Reserve path. South Mosman ferry wharf is located on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Sydney suburb of Mosman. It is located at the end of Musgrave St, and was known as Musgrave Street Wharf from the 19th century through to the 1990s when the State Government renamed it "Mosman South".
