Inman is a surname originating in England. It usually originates from the Medieval English occupational word "Innman", and describes an innkeeper. The origin is the pre 7th century word "inn" meaning a lodging place where alcoholic beverages were served, plus "man", in this case a keeper or foreman. Scott Inman (born October 2, 1978) is an American attorney, banker, and former Democratic politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives as the Minority Leader and Representative of State House District 94 from 2006 to 2018. Robert Inman
Robert Anthony Inman (June 13, 1931 – November 20, 2006) was an American educator, journalist and author. Inman was the son of Verne Inman, M.D., former chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UCSF. He was born in San Francisco and attended Grattan School and Lowell High, achieving the highest honors. As he grew up, he worked summers as manager of the Headen Park Farm, a Santa Clara, California farm founded by his great-great grandfather, Benjamin F. Headen in 1852. The farm house is now the Inman-Headen Museum. Inman graduated from Stanford with distinction (Phi Beta Kappa) in 1952, and was awarded back-to-back Fulbright Scholarships in German Literature in Graz, Austria. Melbourne Inman (15 July 1878 – 11 August 1951) was the World Billiards Champion in 1908, 1909, 1912, 1913, 1914 and 1919. Josh Inman (born March 13, 1980) is an American rower. Inman was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon, where he graduated from Hillsboro High School and became an Eagle Scout. He lettered with the Oregon State Beavers men's rowing team during the years 2000–2003. John Inman (golfer)
John Samuel Inman (born November 26, 1962) is an American professional golfer and college men's golf head coach. He is the younger brother of professional golfer Joe Inman. Inman was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he graduated from Grimsley High School in 1980. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1980–1984, and was a distinguished member of the golf team – a three-time All-American. In his senior year, Inman received the Haskins Award given annually to the college player of the year. He was the individual medalist in the 1984 NCAA Division I Championship.
