Inisheer Aerodrome
Inisheer Aerodrome is located on the island of Inisheer ( ga, Inis Oírr), one of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay off the coast of County Galway, Ireland. This aerodrome is licensed by the Aeronautical Services Department of the Irish Aviation Authority. Service to Connemara Airport is provided by Aer Arann Islands, an airline which also serves the other Aran Islands: Inishmaan ( ga, Inis Meáin) and Inishmore ( ga, Inis Mór). In June 2018, the airline announced that it intends to terminate its PSO contract and cease all flights on 6 December 2018, two years before the contract was due to expire. This development is understood to be due to a dispute between the airline and the government relating to charges for flights that are not covered by the contract. Inisheer
Inisheer ( ga, Inis Oírr , or ) is the smallest and most easterly of the three Aran Islands in Galway Bay, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. With 281 residents as of the 2016 census, it is second-most populous of the Arans. Caomhán of Inisheer, Caomhán of Inis Oírr is the island's patron saint. There are five small settlements: Baile Thiar, Chapeltown (Baile an tSéipéil), Castle Village (Baile an Chaisleáin), Baile an Fhormna and Baile an Lorgain. Inishmaan ( ; ga, Inis Meáin , the official name, formerly spelled , meaning "middle island") is the middle of the three main Aran Islands in Galway Bay, off the west coast of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Inis Mór Aerodrome is located southeast of Kilronan ( ga, Cill Rónáin), a town on the island of Inis Mór ( ga, Inis Mór), one of the Aran Islands off the coast of County Galway in Ireland. It has one paved runway designated 14/32 which measures . Inishmore ( ga, Árainn , or ) is the largest of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, off the west coast of Ireland. With an area of and a population of 762 (as of 2016), it is the second-largest island off the Irish coast (after Achill) and most populous of the Aran Islands. Aer Arann Islands (stylised as aer arann islands) is an Irish airline headquartered in Inverin, County Galway. They operate a three-strong fleet of Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander aircraft to connect the Aran Islands with mainland County Galway.
