Ingvild Tautra Vevatne
Jan Martin Vevatne (born 27 January 1950) is a former Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He grew up in Sola, and graduated from Volda Teachers' College in 1972. He then moved to Asker where he worked as a school teacher until 1986. He worked as a consultant and with banking before becoming organizational leader in the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature from 1992 to 2007. In 2007 he was hired in the Union of Education Norway. He was a member of Asker municipal council from 1974 to 2003 and Akershus county council from 1995 to 2003. In 2000, during Bondevik's First Cabinet, he served as a political advisor in the Ministry of Transport. The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party.
