Ingvar Carlsson (ice Hockey)
Ingvar Åke "Putte" Carlsson (born 16 September 1942) is a retired Swedish ice hockey player and head coach. Career Carlsson played ice hockey for IFK Lidingö in the 1960s and 1970s. After his active career he took up coaching. As an assistant coach, he worked with Leif Boork and managed to lead Djurgården to the Le Mat-trophy in 1983. He became head coach for Djurgården during the 1987–88 season along with assistant coach Lasse Falk. The team became league champions, but was beaten by AIK in the quarterfinals. Carlsson most commonly used tactic was the Neutral zone trap, also known as "1–3–1" in Sweden. After his coaching career, Carlsson became Djurgården's general manager until he became general manager in Djurgården's football department in 2000. He kept his position as general manager until the beginning of 2003. IFK Lidingö
IFK Lidingö is a Swedish sports club, part of the IFK system, based on the island of Lidingö outside Stockholm. Although the club takes part in numerous sports, it is most famous for its football, athletics and orienteering sections. The football team are called IFK Lidingö FK. The club was founded in 1932 and in 1985 it became an alliance club with independent sections. It currently has 400 members, most of them under around 15 years of age. The club arranges Lidingöloppet, which attracts nationwide attention. Athletics Most notable among former athletes at the club is Ludmila Engquist and Mattias Sunneborn. Djurgårdens IF Bandy is the bandy section of Swedish sports club Djurgårdens IF, located in Stockholm. History Djurgårdens IF was one of the teams playing at the Nordic Games in 1905, where the team lost the final to Uppsala HK. The club has been in the Swedish championship finals seven times before 1930, and won two of them, in 1908 and 1912. The 1908 team, who defeated Östergötlands BF with 3–1 at Idrottsparken in Norrköping, consisted of Bror Modén, Gunnar Friberg, Karl Öhman, Algot Nilsson, Götrik Frykman, Birger Walla, Arvid Spångberg, Ivar Friberg, Erik Lavass, Erik Andéhn, and Gottfrid Johansson. Neutral Zone Trap
The neutral zone trap (often referred to as simply the trap) is a defensive strategy used in ice hockey to prevent an opposing team from proceeding through the neutral zone (the area between the blue lines) and to force turnovers. Description The strategy is generally used to level the playing field for teams that are not as offensively talented as their opponents, although the trap can also be used by teams simply looking to protect a lead late in the game. The most recognizable implementation of the trap sees the defense stationing four of their players in the neutral zone and one forechecker in the offensive zone. As the offensive team starts to move up the ice, the forechecker (generally the center) will cut off passing lanes to other offensive players by staying in the middle of the ice, forcing the puck carrier to either sideboard.
