Ingrid Haringa
Ingrid Roelinda Haringa (born 11 July 1964) is a police officer and a former Dutch speed skater and racing cyclist. Biography Skating Ingrid Haringa began her career as a speed skater. During the late eighties she was considered one of the best sprinters in the Netherlands. At the Dutch Championships, she won four gold medals: in the 500 meters in 1987 and 1988 and in the 1000 meters in 1988 and 1989. She participated as part of the Dutch team at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary. She finished 15th in the 500 meters and 21st in the 1000 meters. At the World Sprint Championships in 1989 she finished fourth. She subsequently shifted her focus to cycling. Velsen () is a municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is located on both sides of the North Sea Canal. Points Race
A points race is a mass start track cycling event involving large numbers of riders simultaneously on track. It was an Olympic event for men between 1984–2008 and for women 1996–2008. Starting in 2012, the points race is one of the omnium events in the Olympics. Description The races are run over 40 km for men and 25 km for women in UCI championships. A sprint is held every ten laps, with 5, 3, 2, and 1 point(s) being awarded to the top four finishers in each sprint. The winner of the race is the one to have the most points at the end of the race. In addition to the sprints, any riders managing to lap the main field are awarded an extra 20 points. Ellen Van Langen
Ellen Gezina Maria van Langen (born 9 February 1966) is a Dutch former middle distance runner, who specialised in the 800 metres. A talented but injury-ridden athlete, she was the 1992 Olympic Champion for the women's 800 meters. She is now the director of the FBK games (the Hengelo meeting). Career Van Langen was born in Oldenzaal, Overijssel. Before she started running she played football. She only started to run seriously at 20. In 1989, she won her first of four national championships in the 800 meters and went on to win a silver medal behind Ana Quirot (Cuba) at the World Student Games (Universiade), running 1:59.82. Leontien Van Moorsel
Leontien Martha Henrica Petronella Zijlaard-van Moorsel (born 22 March 1970) is a Dutch retired racing cyclist. She was a dominant cyclist in the 1990s and early 2000s, winning four gold medals at the Olympic Games and holding the hour record for women from 2003 until 2015. Career Van Moorsel started her career in 1977. She won major races both on the track, and on the road. In the first half of the 1990s, she won the Tour Féminin twice, after fierce competition with Jeannie Longo. Van Moorsel dropped out of cycling in 1994 with anorexia nervosa but recovered to compete at the World Championships in 1998, winning the time trial and coming second in the road race. Peter Mueller (speed Skater)
Peter Alan Mueller (born July 27, 1954 in Madison, Wisconsin) is an American former speed skater and currently a speed skating coach. Early life Mueller attended La Follette High School. Skating career Peter Mueller was the first Olympic Champion on the 1,000 m, when this distance was introduced at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. More international successes followed at the World Sprint Championships, where he won bronze in 1976 and silver in 1977. Bob Johannes Carolus de Jong (born 13 November 1976) is a Dutch former speed skating, speed skater who specialized in long distances: five and ten kilometers. Gianni Romme
Gianni Petrus Cornelis Romme (born 12 February 1973) is a Dutch marathoner and a former long track speed skater. He won two gold medals at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and was the World all-round champion in 2000 and 2003. Romme has been a coach since the 2006–07 speed skating season. Career During his long track career, Romme prevailed in long distances (5000 and 10000 metres). His greatest triumphs came at the 1998 Winter Olympics, where he won both events.
