Ingfrid Breie Nyhus
Ingfrid Breie Nyhus (born 26 September 1978) is a Norwegian pianist, the daughter of fiddler Sven Nyhus and the younger sister of fiddler Åshild Breie Nyhus. Career Ingfrid Breie Nyhus plays and creates folk, contemporary and classical music on the piano. She has studied piano at Norwegian Academy of Music, Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. In 1999 she won the Ungdommens Pianomesterskap (The Norwegian Youth piano championship] and also received the award for her interpretation of Geirr Tveitt. In 2005 she was the first recipient of Den norske solistpris (The Norwegian Soloist Award) when it was awarded for the first time during the Festspillene i Bergen. She has performed at concert series and festivals in Norway and Europe within folk, classical, jazz and contemporary genres. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Bergen International Festival ( no, Festspillene i Bergen) is an annual international music and cultural festival in Bergen, Norway. Biography The Bergen International festival is the largest festival in the Nordic countries in its genre and has a large number of activities in music, dance, literature, visual arts, folklore, etc. The festival is held over fourteen days from the end of May to the start of June and is located in numerous places like the Grieg Hall, Haakon's Hall, Troldhaugen, Lysøen, Siljustøl as well as streets and town squares of Bergen. Bjørn Kruse
Bjørn Howard Kruse (born 14 August 1946) is a Norwegian painter and composer. He is also professor of composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. Personal life Kruse is the son of Colonel Erling O. Kruse (born 1922, died 2016) and Eunice Cooklin (born 1925, died 2014), and spent his childhood in England and the USA. In 1974 he married Professor Gro Shetelig (born 1948) and they had three girls, singers and actors Benedikte (born 1979), Anine (born 1977) and Jannike Kruse (born 1975). Marriage dissolved 2008. Spellemannprisen, often referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards in English, is a Norwegian music award presented to Norwegian musicians. The award was established by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. First awarded in 1973, the prize honours musicians from the previous year; it is still awarded annually, usually in January or February.
