Ingemar Backman
Ingemar Backman (born 1 April 1976 in Gällivare, Sweden) is a professional snowboarder famous for setting the world record highest air out of a quarter-pipe (8.5 metres) in Riksgränsen, Sweden in May 1996. He participated in the 1998 Winter Olympics. The record has since been broken by Finn Heikki Sorsa who made a 9.3 metres high air at The Arctic Challenge event held in Oslo in 2001 and then again by Norwegian Terje Haakonsen who made a 9.8 metres high air at The Arctic Challenge in Oslo in 2007. After going to snowboard high school in Malung, Sweden, he became the first snowboard superstar emerging out of Sweden although he was soon followed by riders such as Johan Olofsson. He has lived in San Diego, U.S. as well as Piteå, Sweden but currently resides in Skellefteå, Sweden. Gällivare
Gällivare (; fi, Jällivaara; se, Jiellevárri or ; smj, Jiellevárre or ; fit, Jellivaara) is a locality and the seat of Gällivare Municipality in Norrbotten County, province of Lapland, Sweden with 8,449 inhabitants in 2010. The town was founded in the 17th century. Together with nearby towns Malmberget and Koskullskulle it forms a conurbation with some 15,000 inhabitants. This conurbation is the second northernmost significant urban area of Sweden after Kiruna. Gällivare is situated at the northern end of the Inlandsbanan railway line, about 100 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Gällivare is located in a major iron ore mining region. Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder
''Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder'' is a 2001 snowboarding video game with a similar feel to the ''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater'' series. It was developed by Dear Soft and published by Activision under the Activision O2 label. The game features ten famous snowboarders, including Shaun Palmer, Ross Powers and Shaun White. A demo version of the game is available in the options menu of the PlayStation 2 version of ''Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3''. A sequel was in development by Treyarch, but was later canceled. The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold 'em popularity. Since 2011 the EPT has been sponsored and wholly owned and controlled by PokerStars the online casino and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe. In seasons 1-3, the most significant difference between the competing poker tours was the buy-in and its effect on the prize pool, with the EPT featuring buy-ins about half the size of the WPT. This changed in season 4 when the buy-in for most EPT events was increased to €8,000 (due to increased popularity and lack of space in participating casinos).
