The Izod Corporation (officially stylized as IZOD) is an American midrange clothing company that produces dressy-casual clothing, sportswear for men, and footwear and accessories. It is a division of Authentic Brands Group, and is currently marketed and manufactured by Centric Brands under a long-term licensing agreement. The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) is a stock car racing series organized by NASCAR. It is promoted as NASCAR's second-tier circuit to the organization's top level Cup Series. Randy Bernard (born January 31, 1967) is the former CEO of Professional Bull Riders and IndyCar. He is currently co-managing Garth Brooks. Career Professional Bull Riders Bernard previously served as the CEO of Professional Bull Riders, serving from 1995 to 2010. Bernard sold PBR in 2007 and stayed an additional 3 years, then opted out of his fourth year of his contract to become CEO of INDYCAR. Auto Club Speedway, originally opened as California Speedway, is a , low-banked, D-shaped oval superspeedway in unincorporated San Bernardino County, California, near Fontana. It has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1997. It was also previously used for open wheel racing events. The racetrack is located east of Los Angeles and is near the former locations of Ontario Motor Speedway and Riverside International Raceway. The track is owned and operated by NASCAR. The speedway is served by the nearby Interstate 10 and Interstate 15 freeways as well as a Metrolink station located behind the backstretch. The Detroit Grand Prix (currently branded as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear Corporation for sponsorship reasons) is an IndyCar Series race weekend held on a temporary circuit in Detroit, Michigan. The race has been held from 1989 to 2001, 2007 to 2008, and since 2012. Since 2012, the event has been scheduled for the weekend immediately following the Indianapolis 500. The origins of the event date back to the Formula One Detroit Grand Prix on the Detroit street circuit. The Champ Car, CART series began headlining the event in 1989, and in 1992, the race moved from downtown Detroit to Belle Isle, a park situated on an island in the Detroit River, which is the longest serving venue of the race. Daniel Clive Wheldon (22 June 1978 – 16 October 2011) was a British motor racing driver who won the 2005 IndyCar Series season, 2005 IndyCar Series Drivers' Championship for Andretti Autosport, Andretti Green Racing (AGR). He won the Indianapolis 500 in 2005 Indianapolis 500, 2005 and 2011 Indianapolis 500, 2011, and was co-winner of the 2006 24 Hours of Daytona with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR). Wheldon began competitive karting at the age of eight and achieved early success, before progressing to Open-wheel car, open-wheel car racing in the U.S. F2000 National Championship, the Atlantic Championship, Toyota Atlantic Championship and Indy Lights. 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship
The 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship was the scheduled final race of the 2011 IndyCar Series season, 2011 IZOD IndyCar series. It was to be run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada USA on October 16, 2011, and was scheduled for 200 laps around the facility's 1.544 mile oval. The race, however, was red-flagged on the twelfth lap after a massive crash triggered by contact between Wade Cunningham and James Hinchcliffe. Driver Dan Wheldon died as a result of the crash, which led to IndyCar officials cancelling the remaining 188 laps of the event. The incident is widely considered to be the worst crash in modern motorsports history; aside from Wheldon's death, several other drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries and many of the vehicles involved had either flipped over or caught fire.
