Indoor athletics at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games was held in Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium, Hanoi, Vietnam from 31 October to 2 November 2009. On the first day of competition youth beat out experience in the 60 metres races: representing the host nation, Vietnam's Vũ Thị Hương set a personal best to edge veteran Guzel Khubbieva to the women's gold, and 20-year-old Su Bingtian also ran a personal best to win the men's race. Chinese athlete Li Ling won the women's pole vault by almost half a metre (her mark of 4.45 m just one centimetre off the Asian record). Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium
Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium or Mỹ Đình Indoor Athletics Arena ( vi, Cung Điền kinh Hà Nội or Cung Thi đấu Điền kinh trong nhà Mỹ Đình) is an indoor arena in Hanoi, Vietnam. It has a capacity of 3,094 using permanent seating and temporary seating configuration. The arena is a part of Vietnam National Sporting Complex, situated north west of Mỹ Đình National Stadium and Mỹ Đình Aquatics Center. The venue was one of several projects built to commemorate the Millennial Anniversary of Hanoi. Olga Rypakova (russian: Ольга Сергеевна Рыпакова; née Alekseyeva; 30 November 1984) is a Kazakhstani track and field athlete. Originally a heptathlete, she switched to focus on the long jump and began to compete in the triple jump after 2007. Chen Jingwen (, born 4 February 1990 in Guangzhou) is a Chinese sprinter who specializes in the 400 metres.
