India At The 2024 Summer Olympics
India competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, held from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The country made its debut at the India at the 1900 Summer Olympics, 1900 Summer Olympics. Indian athletes have appeared at every edition of the Summer Olympic Games since India at the 1920 Summer Olympics, 1920 and the Paris Games edition marked India's 26th appearance at the Summer Olympics. The Indian contingent for the 2024 Olympics consisted of 110 athletes who competed in 16 sports. They won six medals including a silver and five bronze. The country was thus ranked 71st amongst the 206 Committees that participated in the Olympics. This was India's second highest medal haul after the 2020 Summer Olympics. Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals in shooting and became the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic Games since Independence. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) or Indian Olympic Committee (IOC) is the body responsible for selecting athletes to represent India at the Olympic Games, Asian Games and other international athletic meets and for managing the Indian teams at these events.
