India participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018. India managed their best ever medal haul of the Youth Olympics in this edition. Among the 206 participating nations, India ranked 17th on the medals tally. *Jeremy Lalrinnunga won India's first ever Youth Olympics gold medal. * Tababi Devi won the first ever Youth Olympics medal for India in Judo and later also won a silver in the mixed team event under mixed-NOCs. *Manu Bhaker became the first Indian girl to win a Youth Olympics gold medal and later also won a silver in the mixed 10 metre air pistol event under mixed-NOCs *Both Boys' and Girls' Hockey 5s teams won silver medals in their debut. Badminton at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 7 to 12 October. The events took place at the Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Qualification A total of 32 athletes will participate in each gender. Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 2 competitors per gender should they both rank in the top 4 in the BWF Junior World Rankings. Wrestling at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 12 to 14 October. The events took place at the Parque Polideportivo Roca#Olympic Park, Asia Pavilion in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 6 competitors, 2 in Boys' Freestyle, 2 in Boys' Greco-Roman and 2 in Girls' Freestyle. As hosts, Argentina was given 3 quotas, one in each discipline should they participate in the Cadet Pan American Championships. A further 12, 8 male and 4 female athletes were decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 95 athletes, 50 male and 45 female qualified over five continental qualification tournaments. For the boys’ events, each continent qualified 1 athlete while for the girls’ events the top 3 Europeans, top 2 Asians and Pan Americans and the top African and Oceanian athletes qualified. Mehuli Ghosh (born 20 November 2000) is an Indian sport shooter. She represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals of the 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. She ranked seventh there. In 2018, at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won a silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle after a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. she was ranked 36th in the world and 14th in Asia. Early career Mehuli joined the Serampore Rifle Club in 2014. She was banned by the club for accidentally hitting a person during practice.
