Condado De Treviño
Condado de Treviño ("County of Treviño") is a municipality in the province of Burgos, autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. This municipality and the geographically smaller La Puebla de Arganzón make up the enclave of Treviño. Although the enclave is part of Burgos (and, hence, part of the autonomous community of Castile and León) it is surrounded by the province of Álava, part of the autonomous community of the Basque Country. As of 2015, the municipality had a population of 1,362. History An abundance of prehistoric remains testify that the Condado de Treviño has been inhabited since ancient times. In pre-Roman times, the Varduls, Caristios and Autrigones all lived here at one time or another, attesting to the region's strategic importance. In the hamlet of Laño one can still see artificial caves that were inhabited by hermits more than 1500 years ago. The Las Gobas caves preserve inscriptions and drawings of animals. The branch of social science that studies politics and government is referred to as political science. The concept has been defined in various ways, and different approaches have fundamentally differing views on whether it should be used extensively or limitedly, empirically or normatively, and on whether conflict or co-operation is more essential to it. A variety of methods are deployed in politics, which include promoting one's own political views among people, negotiation with other political subjects, making laws, and exercising internal and external force, including w ... Treviño Enclave Dispute
The conflict over the Treviño enclave is a territorial dispute in northern Spain between the administration of the Province of Burgos and Castile and León on the one side, and those of Álava and the Basque Country on the other, over the administration of the territory. The conflict does not only involve territorial questions, but also extends to political and language issues, as well as questions about provision of services and transport connections. Geographically, the enclave is situated inside the Province of Álava, which completely surrounds it. However, administratively, it belongs to the Province of Burgos. The territory is near the large Basque city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, with over 200,000 inhabitants, while the nearest urban center in Burgos province is Miranda de Ebro, with about 40,000 inhabitants. The enclave holds cultural, commercial and linguistic links with the neighbouring Álava province. According to a Burgos newspaper, in a legal sense there is no territo ... Público (Spain)
''Público'' () is a Spanish online newspaper. It was published as a print daily newspaper between 2007 and 2012. The print version folded but the newspaper continues online. History and profile ''Público'' was established in September 2007. The founder is Jaume Roures, head of Mediapro. One of only two national left-wing papers (the other being ''elDiario.es''), the paper had a harder-left editorial line than ''El País''. ''Público'' also aimed at a younger readership. The paper was two-thirds the length of its competitors and its price, initially only 50 cents, was less than half. The paper's original press run was 250,000 daily. After making financial losses for several years, and facing a €9 million deficit, ''Público'' folded its print edition in February 2012. In its last year, the paper was the ninth-largest general-interest newspaper in Spain and the fifth-largest of those headquartered in Madrid.
