Immanuel Church, Stockholm
Immanuel Church ( sv, Immanuelskyrkan) is church located in the city centre of Stockholm, Sweden. The church was designed by Sture Frölén and built in 1974 on a lot that used to house a tram depot, at the intersection of Birger Jarlsgatan and Kungstensgatan. The entire block, containing offices and a hotel, was built in the years 1970–1974 on behalf of the church. The church has been considered a fine example of 1970s modernist architecture and is of great historical value, according to the Stockholm City Museum. Modernism is both a philosophy, philosophical and arts movement that arose from broad transformations in Western world, Western society during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Stockholm City Museum
The Stockholm City Museum ( sv, Stadsmuseet i Stockholm) is a museum documenting, preserving and exhibiting the history of Stockholm. The museum is housed in Södra Stadshuset at Slussen on Södermalm. The building was completed in 1685. In the 1930s the museum moved in and opened to the public in 1942. The museum is the largest municipal museum in Sweden, and houses collections which include 300,000 items of historical interest; 20,000 works of art and 3 million photographs. The City Museum closed for renovation January 12, 2015 and reopened on April 27, 2019. The museum is governed by the Cultural Affairs and Sports Division of the City of Stockholm. Emporis GmbH was a real estate data mining company that was headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The company collected data and photographs of buildings worldwide, which were published in an online database from 2000 to September 2022. Birger Jarlsgatan
Birger Jarlsgatan is one of the longest streets in central Stockholm, Sweden. The street forms the border between Östermalm and the two neighbouring districts Norrmalm and Vasastaden. It is named after Birger Jarl since 1885, then "Birger Jarls gata" (''gata'' meaning "street"). The contemporary spelling has been used since 1932. Stockholm Municipality or the City of Stockholm ( sv, Stockholms kommun or ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. It has the largest population of the 290 municipalities of the country, but one of the smallest areas, making it the second most densely populated.
