Ilya Leonidovich Aleksiyevich ( be, Ілья Леанідавіч Алексіевіч; russian: Илья Леонидович Алексиевич; born 10 February 1991) is a Belarusian professional football player who plays for BATE Borisov. Career Aleksiyevich made his debut for the senior national team of his country on 14 November 2012, in a friendly match against Israel. He had previously competed for Belarus at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Zhodzina (officially transliterated as Žodzina, also spelled Zhodino, be, Жо́дзіна, , russian: Жо́дино, , pl, Żodzino, is a city in Belarus, located in the Minsk Region, 50 km north-east of Minsk. The city covers an area of 19 km² and has a population of 65,451 (2021). History The settlement is first mentioned in 1688, belonging to the Radziwiłł family. It has had city status since 1963. The 2013 Belarusian Premier League was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Belarus. It began in April 2013 and ended in November 2013. BATE Borisov are the defending champions, having won their 9th league title the previous year. Format change Starting with this season, the league will be played in two phases. The first phase will consist of a regular double-round robin tournament between 12 teams. The best six teams will qualify for the championship round, which will determine the champions and the participants for the 2014–15 European competitions. The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier.
