Ilaya Thalaimurai
''Ilaya Thalaimurai'' () is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by Krishnan–Panju and written by Malliyam Rajagopal. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Vanisri. It was released on 8 May 1977. Plot Sampath is a poor graduate trying to find a job. Sakunthala is a rich young woman whose mother wants her to marry Kalai the chairman and also a friend of Sampath. Sakunthala and Sampath fall in love but face resistance from her mother and Kalai. Sampath heads to Madras to find work and becomes the warden of a college dorm. The terms of the job require him to remain unmarried and he isolates himself from Sakunthala. At the dorm, he is strict but acts as a positive guide to the students, helping them through various issues. His exacting expectations earn him a few enemies among the students, particularly Vasu. Krishnan–Panju
R. Krishnan (1909–1997) and S. Panju (1915–1984), collectively referred to as Krishnan–Panju, were Indian film directors. The duo directed more than 50 films in South Indian languages and in Hindi. Early life R. Krishnan was born on 18 July 1909 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Previously, he was in charge of the laboratory in Pakshiraja Studios (then known as Kandhan studio) in Coimbatore. S. Panju was born on 24 January 1915 as Panchapakesan in Umayalpuram near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Previously, he worked as an assistant editor under P. K. Sivaji Ganesan
Villupuram Chinnaiya Manrayar Ganesamoorthy, better known by his stage name Sivaji Ganesan, (1 October 1928 – 21 July 2001) was an Indian actor and producer. He was active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. Srikanth (19 March 1940 – 12 October 2021) was an Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since his debut in 1965. He is also referred to as Venniradai Srikanth. He has played the lead hero in around 50 films between 1965 and 1979 and has also played supporting roles in films with actors Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Ravichandran and Jaishankar in the lead roles. Nagesh (born Cheyur Krishnarao Nageshwaran; (27 September 1933 – 31 January 2009) was an Indian actor, mostly remembered for his roles as a comedian in Tamil films during the 1960s. Nagesh was born in Dharapuram. He acted in over 1,000 films from 1958 to 2008, performing in a variety of roles as comedian, lead roles, supporting actor and antagonist. He has also acted in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada films. Nagesh's style of comedy was largely inspired by Hollywood actor Jerry Lewis. Suruli Rajan was a Tamil film comedian/character artiste. He was a recipient of Tamil Nadu State Government's Best Comedian Award for the year 1981–82. Biography Suruli Rajan was born in 1938 in Periyakulam, near Theni. His father ''Ponnaiya Pillai'' worked as an accountant for farm owners of the adjoining areas in Theni. The child was named after the Surulivelar Swamy, the family deity at the temple atop a hill graced by the picturesque Suruli Falls.
