Ikebukuro West Gate Park
, usually referred to by its initials IWGP, is a series of urban mystery novels by Ira Ishida. It was adapted into a drama television series directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko. The television drama then got a manga adaptation. An anime television series adaptation of the original novel by Doga Kobo aired from October to December 2020. Plot The series revolves around 20-year-old Makoto, who frequently gets involved in highly dangerous situations, usually against his own judgment. Ira Ishida
is a Japanese novelist and TV commentator. After graduating from Seikei University, he worked for a number of different advertising production companies and as a freelance copywriter. In 1997, he published his first short story collection, ''Ikebukuro West Gate Park'', which won the 36th All Yomimono New Mystery Writer's Prize. In 2003, he won the Naoki Prize for ''4teen''. His novels describe the culture of young people in Japan, particularly young women and otaku without a college education. Many of his works have been adapted for manga and television. As an actor, he made his first appearance in a leading role in the 2006 film '' Love My Life''. Ishida's pen name, Ishida Ira, was derived by splitting his real family name Ishidaira. Billy Kametz
Billy P. Kametz (March 22, 1987 – June 9, 2022) was an American voice actor. He was best known for his work dubbing anime and video games. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Kametz began his voice acting career in 2016 when he moved to Los Angeles and debuted as Aladdin in a Broadway-styled musical. He had been providing the English voices for Josuke Higashikata in '' JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable'', Naofumi Iwatani in ''The Rising of the Shield Hero'', and Ferdinand von Aegir in '' Fire Emblem: Three Houses.'' Ganguro
is a fashion trend among young Japanese women that started in the mid-1990s, distinguished by a dark tan and contrasting make-up liberally applied by fashionistas. The Shibuya and Ikebukuro districts of Tokyo were the centres of ''ganguro'' fashion; it was started by rebellious youth who contradicted the traditional Japanese concept of beauty; pale skin, dark hair and neutral makeup tones. Ikebukuro West Gate Park (TV Series)
was a popular Japanese television drama by screenwriter Kankuro Kudo. Based on a novel by Ira Ishida, it initially aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System during the summer of 2000, and was directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. The success of the television series would launch a '' manga'' adaptation the following year.
