Iisang Dagat
"Iisang Dagat" ( zh, 海的那边; ) is a song produced by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines. Officially, the song was made as a tribute to Chinese and Filipino front-liners working amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines as well as to commemorate Chinese–Philippine relations. The song received a significant negative feedback from Filipinos for being perceived as a Chinese government propaganda supporting the territorial claims of the People's Republic of China over the South China Sea. By November 2020, its music video posted in YouTube has received over 222,000 dislikes. Lyrics Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian wrote the lyrics for "Iisang Dagat". Imelda Arcilla Papin (born January 26, 1956) is a Filipino singer and politician. Dubbed the "Sentimental Songstress", Papin sang songs such as "Bakit (Kung Liligaya Ka sa Piling ng Iba)" and "Isang Linggong Pag-ibig". Early life Papin was born on January 26, 1956, in Presentacion, Camarines Sur. She started her career in a remote fishing village of the province.
