Idhu Namma Aalu (1988 Film)
''Idhu Namma Aalu'' (; contextual: He is from our caste) is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language comedy film written by K. Bhagyaraj and directed by Balakumaran in his debut. The film was remade in Telugu as '' Adirindhi Alludu'' (1996), and twice in Kannada: as '' Aliya Alla Magala Ganda'' (1997) and ''Ravi Shastri'' (2006). Plot Gopalsamy, a poor graduate of Bachelor of Arts, travels to Madras to financially provide for his mother's eye surgery. Being unable to meet both ends meet, he encounters a Brahmin priest who employs young men to sell snacks by forging their identity in order to deceive his customers. The priest obliges Gopal to impersonate a Brahmin and sell food in the neighbouring agraharam. Being a non-Brahmin from a backward caste, Gopal finds it morally reprehensible to wear the sacred thread. Balakumaran
Balakumaran (5 July 1946 – 15 May 2018) was an Indian Tamil writer and author of over 200 novels, 100 short stories, and dialogue/screenplay writer for 23 films. He also contributed to Tamil periodicals such as ''Kalki'', ''Ananda Vikatan'' and ''Kumudam''. His notable works as a dialogue writer in Tamil Cinema include Nayakan, Guna, Baashha and Pudhupettai. Biography Balakumaran was born in Pazhamarneri village near Thirukattupalli in Thanjavur district on 5 July 1946. He was married to Kamala and Santha. They have daughter Gowri and son Venkataraman aka Surya. He was a disciple of Yogi Ramsurat Kumar. Balakumaran died at the age of 71 due to prolonged illness in a private hospital on 15 May 2018. Muthulingam (Tamil:''முத்துலிங்கம்'') (born 20 March 1942) is an Indian songwriter. He wrote over 1,500 Tamil film songs, and was the winner of Kalaimamani, Bavender Bharathidasan Award, Best Songwriter Award, Artist Award. He is a former royal poet and a former upper house member. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935.
