Clube União Idanhense is a Portugal, Portuguese sports club from Idanha-a-Nova. The men's football team plays in the Portuguese District Championships, the fifth tier of Portuguese football. The team was promoted to the fourth-tier Campeonato de Portugal (league), Campeonato de Portugal league after winning the 2020–21 I Divisão Castelo Branco Football Association, AF Castelo Branco, but was relegated after just one season. 2021–22 Campeonato De Portugal
The 2021–22 Campeonato de Portugal was the ninth season of Portuguese football's recreated fourth-tier league, since the merging of the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão in 2013, and the seventh season under the current Campeonato de Portugal title. After the creation of Liga 3, the new third-tier league in 2021, this was also the first season of Campeonato Portugal as the fourth-tier league in Portuguese football league system, the 24th overall at that level. This edition was contested by 61 clubs. Format After the transition season of 2020–21, due to COVID effects and creation of Liga 3, the number of participating teams was reduced from 96 to 63. After two teams withdrew before the draw, the competition has 61 teams. The new competition format consists of three stages. Idanha-a-Nova
Idanha-a-Nova () is a town and surrounding municipality in the district of Castelo Branco, in east-central Portugal. A border municipality with Spain, the population of the municipality in 2011 was 9,716, in an area of 1416.34 km2, making it one of the largest and least densely populated municipalities in Portugal as well as the first Portuguese municipality by population ageing. King Alfonso II (1211-1223) confirmed its charter in 1219 renaming the village with the current place names (Idanha-a-Nova) to distinguish it from the old Idanha (hereinafter Idanha-a-Velha), 18 kilometers away. Campeonato De Portugal (league)
The Campeonato de Portugal (Portuguese for 'Championship of Portugal') is the fourth level of the Portuguese football league system. Together with the third-tier Liga 3, it is organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The Campeonato de Portugal was introduced in 2013 as the new third-level championship, under the name Campeonato Nacional de Seniores (Seniors National Championship), replacing both the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão (former third and fourth divisions, respectively). On 22 October 2015, it adopted its current naming. With the creation of the Liga 3 as the new third division from the 2021–22 season, the Campeonato de Portugal was demoted one level.
