State Highway 78 (SH-78) is a state highway in Idaho from SH-55 in Marsing to I-84 Business Loop in Hammett Route description SH-78 starts at the intersection with SH-55 in Marsing and provides access to sites south of the Snake River from there to Bruneau and a few along the north side via SH-167 from Grand View. SH-78 provides access to Bruneau Dunes State Park and itself crosses the Snake into Elmore County before reaching its eastern terminus at Hammett. History The basic route of today's SH-78 from Marsing to Bruneau was in place as early as the mid-1930s, mostly as unimproved roads with a few all-weather gravel segments near Bruneau, Grand View and north of Murphy (a segment originally part of SH-45), and some paved segments near Marsing as of the 1937 map. Bruneau Dunes State Park
Bruneau Dunes State Park is a public recreation and geologic preservation area in the western United States, located in Owyhee County in southwestern Idaho. It is northeast of Bruneau and south of Mountain Home. Mountain Home Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) installation in the western United States. Located in southwestern Idaho in Elmore County, the base is southwest of Mountain Home, which is southeast of Boise via Interstate 84. Silver City, Idaho
Silver City is a ghost town in northwestern Owyhee County, Idaho, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). At its height in the 1880s, it was a gold and silver mining town with a population of around 2,500 and approximately 75 businesses. Description Silver City served as county seat of Owyhee County from 1867 to 1934. Today, the town has about 70 standing buildings, all of which are privately owned. Many of the owners are third- or fourth-generation descendants of the original miners. There are a handful of small businesses, but no gas or service stations. State Highway 45 (SH-45) is a state highway in Idaho. It runs from SH-78 to Interstate 84 Business (I-84 Bus.) in Nampa. Route description SH-45 begins at an intersection with SH-78 before crossing the Snake River and heading northeast. The highway continues north into the city of Nampa as 12th Avenue Road, passing by Mercy Medical Center and Northwest Nazarene University.
