Ida Nerina
Ida Nerina binti Hussain (born 13 January 1964), better known by her stage name Ida Nerina, is a Malaysian actress, producer and director. Biography Ida Nerina's career in TV and films began in the early 1990s. In 1992, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 10th Malaysian Film Festival for her portrayal of E.J. in Shuhaimi Baba's ''Selubung'', her first ever performance in feature film. Ida Nerina has since been nominated and awarded several times, including the Best Actress award at the 13th Malaysian Film Festival for her portrayal of Ena Manja Lara in Shuhaimi Baba's 1997 film ''Layar Lara'', which also won awards at the Brussels Independent Film Festival in 1997. The seventh season of ''Akademi Fantasia'' premiered on 9 March 2009 and continued until 16 May 2009 on the Astro Ria television channel. ''Akademi Fantasia'' (commonly abbreviated as ''AF'') is Malaysia's first reality television show in which a number of contestants called students compete for the winning title and a chance to start their career in the entertainment industry. The first season premiered on 3 June 2003 and was one of Astro Ria's highest rated shows. The theme song entitled "Menuju Puncak" was performed by Juwita Suwito, who is the sister of the composer, Aubrey Suwito. Astro Ria is a 24-hour Southeast Asia Bahasa Malaysia television channel exclusive to the Astro satellite television provider. It was one of the first 22 channels to be launched on Astro in 1996. Astro Ria offers a variety of shows including news, local and Indonesian dramas, movies, reality shows, sports, talk shows, cartoons, concerts, sitcoms, documentaries, cooking shows, quizzes and more. ''Talentime'' is a 2009 Malaysian Malay-language drama film written and directed by Yasmin Ahmad. Yasmin, in her blog, has described it "as a story full of joy and pain, hope and despair, a host of beautifully-written songs, and rich characters".
