Icelandic Basketball Player Of The Year
The Icelandic Basketball Player of the Year award was established in 1973 to recognize the best Icelandic basketball player of the year. The winners are basketball players who have Icelandic citizenship, and whose performances with its sports club and/or national team throughout the year has reached the highest level of excellence. All players with Icelandic citizenship, regardless of where they play in the world, qualify for the award. Iceland

Fram Reykjavík Basketball
(English: Fram's basketball department) was the basketball department of Knattspyrnufélagið Fram, located in Reykjavík, Iceland. Men's basketball History In 1973 Fram participated in the first edition of the Icelandic Second Division and became its first winner. From the following season, the 1974–75 season, Fram Reykjavík began their leadership in the First Division and their series of wins which ended in the 1985–86 season when they won their fourth title. Fram's best season came in 1981–1982 when the team won the Icelandic cup and finished second in the Úrvalsdeild. The basketball department disbanded after the 1986–87 season but had a brief revitalization in the 2010s, playing three seasons in the Second Division from 2010 to 2013 and making it to the playoffs in 2012 and 2013. Keflavík Women's Basketball
The Keflavík women's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the women's basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It is Iceland's most successful women's basketball team with 16 national championship. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild kvenna where they won the national championship in 2017. Anna María Sveinsdóttir
Anna María Sveinsdóttir (born 22 November 1969) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. She won twelve Icelandic championships and eleven Icelandic basketball cups, and is regarded as one of the best women's players in Icelandic basketball history. She was the first player to break the 5000 points barrier in Úrvalsdeild kvenna and finished her career as its all-time leading scorer with 5001 points in 324 games. The scoring record stood until 23 April 2013, when it was broken by Birna Valgarðsdóttir. Guðmundur Bragason (born 21 April 1967) is a former Icelandic professional basketball player and coach. He spent most of his career with Grindavík in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild, winning the national championship there in 1996. Páll Hermann Kolbeinsson (born 17 April 1964) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach, and a former member of the Icelandic national team. He was named the Icelandic Basketball Player of the Year and Úrvalsdeild Domestic Player of the Year in 1990, the same year he won the Icelandic championship with KR. He played college basketball for University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Coaching career Páll was hired as a player-coach for KR in 1990 and guided the team to the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 1991. Pálmar Sigurðsson
Pálmar Sigurðsson (born 7 February 1963) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach, and a former member of the Icelandic national team. In 2001 he was named to the Icelandic basketball team of the 20th century by the Icelandic Basketball Association. Club career Pálmar started his career with Haukar and helped them win the 2. deild karla in 1981. In 1983, he led Haukar to victory in the 1. deild karla and promotion to the top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla. In 1988 he led Haukar to the national championship after making 11 three-point shots in the fifth and deciding game of the finals against Njarðvík. The same year he was named the Icelandic All-Star Game MVP. He retired early in November 1995. National team career Pálmar played 74 games for the Icelandic national team from 1982 to 1992.
