James Ian Munro (born July 10, 1947)Curriculum vitae, as printed in the front matter of ''Space-Efficient Data Structures, Streams, and Algorithms''. is a Canadian computer scientist. He is known for his fundamental contributions to algorithms and data structures (including optimal binary search trees, priority queues, hashing, and space-efficient data structures). After earning a bachelor's degree in 1968 from the University of New Brunswick and a master's in 1969 from the University of British Columbia, Munro finished his doctorate in 1971 from the University of Toronto, under the supervision of Allan Borodin. In , he formalized the notion of an implicit data structure, and has continued work in this area. He is currently a University Professor in the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo and the Canada Research Chair in Algorithm Design (Tier I), a research title that was first given in 2001 and was renewed most recently in 2016. Ian Munro (born 1963) is an Australian pianist, composer, writer and music educator. His career has taken him to over 30 countries in Europe, Asia, North America and Australasia. Biography Ian Munro was born in Melbourne in 1963, and attended Scotch College (1975–80) and the Victorian College of the Arts (1981–83). His early piano training was in Melbourne with Rodney Hurst, Marta Rostas (a pupil of Béla Bartók), Deirdre Vadas and Roy Shepherd (a pupil of Alfred Cortot) and he had further study in Vienna, London and Italy with Franz Zettl, Noretta Conci, Guido Agosti and Michele Campanella. Ian Alexander Munro (born 1957/1958) is an Australian film and television director and producer. His career has spanned a variety of genres including telemovies, documentaries and children’s programs. Munro has also directed various performances for the stage. He was the first staff elected representative on the Board of Film Australia. Training Munro studied at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School where his final year film 'Life Begins at 40' won the Sammy Award for best TV Documentary. He graduated in 1980. Ian Monroe
Ian Monroe (born 1972) is an artist based in London. Monroe was born in Cooperstown, New York (state), New York and spent his childhood in Reston, Virginia, a planned community 25 miles outside of Washington, D.C. Monroe received his BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from Washington University in St. Louis in 1995. He went on to complete an MA (again in visual art) from Goldsmiths College, London, in 2002. The main work he exhibited at his Master of Arts, MA show, ''Canyon Recreated'', was bought by Charles Saatchi. Monroe came to public attention in 2003 when this piece was featured in the opening exhibition at the new Saatchi Gallery. Iain Munro
Alexander Iain Fordyce Munro (born 24 August 1951) is a Scottish former professional football player and manager. Playing career Munro was born in Uddingston and began his career at St Mirren making 103 league appearances for the Buddies in four years scoring 16 goals before moving to Hibernian in 1973. He spent three years at Hibs playing in 61 league matches and then joined Rangers for a short spell before making a return to Love Street. Munro spent three years back at St Mirren before moving south to Stoke City where he spent the 1980–81 season making 34 appearances scoring once which came in a 2–1 away victory at Southampton. In the summer of 1981 manager Alan Durban moved to Sunderland and he took Munro up to Roker Park with him. He spent three seasons at Sunderland making 88 appearances and later played with Dundee United and ended his career with a second spell at Hibernian.
