Ian Munro (director)
Ian Alexander Munro (born 1957/1958) is an Australian film and television director and producer. His career has spanned a variety of genres including telemovies, documentaries and children’s programs. Munro has also directed various performances for the stage. He was the first staff elected representative on the Board of Film Australia. Training Munro studied at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School where his final year film 'Life Begins at 40' won the Sammy Award for best TV Documentary. He graduated in 1980. Documentaries As a young filmmaker, Munro began making social documentaries, including the Logie winning series 'TV Specials with Michael Willesee' which were screened in Prime Time on Sunday nights. Giggle And Hoot
''Giggle and Hoot'' was an Australian children's television "wrap-around" program block that aired on the ABC Kids channel. The series was produced from 2009 to 2019, with the final episodes airing in 2020, and depicted the adventures of Jimmy Giggle (played by Jimmy Rees) and his best friend, Hoot the Owl (played by Damian Wagland). It also aired on ABC from 2009 to 2011. In later seasons, they were joined by a second owl called Hootabelle (played by Jemma Armstrong) along with other friends and their toys. ''Bananas in Pyjamas'' is an Australian children's television series that first aired on 20 July 1992 on ABC. It has since been syndicated in many countries and dubbed into other languages. In the United States, the "Pyjamas" in the title was modified to reflect the American spelling ''pajamas''. John Patterson (screenwriter)
John Carne Patterson (1949 – February 2016) was an Australian screenwriter, lyricist, playwright and children's author. He is known for co-creating the Australian children's television series Johnson and Friends, with Ian Munro (director) and Ron Saunders (producer). Munro and Patterson also co-created Boffins and Patterson has written for other children's series including Fatty and George, Escape from Jupiter, the 1990s version of The Toothbrush Family, New MacDonald's Farm and Toybox. He also co-wrote the successful Australian drama film Annie's Coming Out. As a children's author John Patterson wrote several books based on the Johnson and Friends series.
