Ian Gibson (cricketer)
Ian Gibson (15 August 1936 – 3 May 1963) was an English doctor and cricketer who played first-class cricket for Oxford University between 1955 and 1958, for Derbyshire between 1957 and 1961 and for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 1961. Biography Gibson was born in Glossop and was educated at Manchester Grammar School, where he was in the first XI from 1951 to 1954 and was captain in the last two years. In 1953 he played for the Public Schools XI and at the age of 17 began playing for the Lancashire Second XI in the Minor Counties Championship. He went to Brasenose College, Oxford, and in 1955 began his first-class cricketing career with Oxford University. He made his first-class debut against Gloucestershire, and played fifteen first-class games for the university and followed up his series of university matches playing for Lancashire 2nd XI. Ian Stewart Gibson (30 March 1943 – 25 May 2016) was a Scottish professional footballer. Career Early career A Scottish schoolboy international, Gibson began his career at Accrington Stanley, making his league debut at the age of 15, before joining Bradford Park Avenue in 1960. He spent two years in Bradford. Middlesbrough Gibson's form in Bradford saw Middlesbrough pay £30,000 to sign him in March 1962. He joined the club as it was entering a steady decline which saw them fall into the third division. Coventry City With Middlesbrough relegated in 1966 Gibson was signed by Coventry City for £57,000 and despite a major fall-out with manager Jimmy Hill he helped them win promotion to the First division in his first season, becoming one of the fan's most popular players. Ian Gibson is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a striker. Football career Gibson began his professional career at the Scottish Highland League club Nairn County. He then moved to Aberdeen in 1975, making his debut in the 2–0 win over Dumbarton. He remained there for a further three seasons, until he moved to Kilmarnock in 1978. Gibson made seventy appearances for Kilmarnock, scoring twelve goals. Gibson played in the Australian National Soccer League (NSL) for Canberra City between 1981 and 1986, scoring 28 times in 137 appearances. Career Gibson began his professional career with Partick Thistle and made over 100 league appearances for ''The Jags'' during his seven years at Firhill. Ian Gibson is a Scottish retired association football (soccer) player. Gibson is most notable for being a regular first team player for Fitzroy United Alexander in the Victorian State League. Gibson is also notable for playing for South Melbourne Hellas in the National Soccer League's inaugural season in 1977. Ian Gibson (born 1946) is a British comic book artist, best known for his 1980s black-and-white work for '' 2000 AD'', especially as the main artist on ''Robo-Hunter'' and '' The Ballad of Halo Jones'', as well as his long run on ''Judge Dredd''. Biography His imaginative cartoonish, and intricately detailed style (especially in black and white strips) lends itself best to humorous strips, such as ''Robo-Hunter'', although his work on the Alan Moore-penned '' The Ballad of Halo Jones'' shows that he is capable of telling a serious story. Ian Gibson (born April 7, 1963) is a Professor of Design Engineering at the University of Twente. Gibson was selected as the scientific director of Fraunhofer Project Center at the University of Twente and is a recipient of lifetime achievement award, the Freeform and Additive Manufacturing Award.
