''I Am Sebastian Ott'' (german: Ich bin Sebastian Ott) is a 1939 German crime film directed by Willi Forst and starring Forst, Gustav Diessl and Trude Marlen.Von Dassanowsky p. 60 Some of the film was shot by the assistant director Viktor Becker. The film's sets were designed by the art director Kurt Herlth and Werner Schlichting. It was shot partly at the Sievering Studios in Vienna. It premiered at the Gloria-Palast in Berlin shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War. The plot revolves around art fraud with Forst playing the dual role of twins, one honest and the other corrupt. Willi Forst
Willi Forst, born Wilhelm Anton Frohs (7 April 1903 – 11 August 1980) was an Austrian actor, screenwriter, film director, film producer and singer. As a debonair actor he was a darling of the German-speaking film audiences, as a director, one of the most significant makers of the Viennese period musical melodramas and comedies of the 1930s known as ''Wiener Filme''. From the mid-1930s he also recorded many records, largely of sentimental Viennese songs, for the Odeon Records label owned by Carl Lindström AG. Biography His first major role was opposite Marlene Dietrich in the silent film '' Café Elektric'' in 1927. However, he was best known for his characters in light musicals, which rapidly made him a star. Paul Hörbiger (29 April 1894 – 5 March 1981) was an Austrian theatre and film actor. Life and work Paul Hörbiger was born in the Hungarian capital Budapest, then part of Austria-Hungary, the son of engineer Hanns Hörbiger, founder of the ''Welteislehre'' cosmological concept, and elder brother of actor Attila Hörbiger. In 1902, the family returned to Vienna, while Paul attended the '' gymnasium'' (high school) at St. Paul's Abbey in Carinthia.
