ITunes Session (Chet Faker EP)
''iTunes Session'' is an extended play (EP) by Australian electronic musician Chet Faker. It was released on 28 November 2014 exclusively on the iTunes Store through Future Classic. The six-track EP was recorded at Studios 301 in Sydney and features live versions of tracks originally for his debut album ''Built on Glass'' with the exception of "I'm Into You" which appeared on his 2012 debut EP, '' Thinking in Textures''. The EP debuted and peaked at number 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Background During 2014, Faker won five awards at the 2014 ARIA Awards, had a number 1 album in Australia and was given the J Award for Australian Album of the Year after recording and releasing his own iTunes Sessions album. Chet Faker
Nicholas James Murphy (born 23 June 1988), known professionally as Chet Faker, is an Australian singer and songwriter. In 2012, as Chet Faker, he issued an extended play, '' Thinking in Textures'', and signed to Downtown Records in the United States. In October 2012, he won Breakthrough Artist of the Year and ''Thinking in Textures'' won Best Independent Single/EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards. In January 2013, the work won Best Independent Release at the ''Rolling Stone'' Australia Awards for 2012. Murphy's cover of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" was featured in a 2013 Super Bowl commercial for Beck's Sapphire. In April 2014, ''Built on Glass'', his debut studio album, was released to generally positive reviews and debuted at number one on the Australian ARIA Charts. "Gold" is the third single by Australian musician Chet Faker from his debut studio album, ''Built on Glass'' (2014). The song was released in Australia as a digital download on 2 June 2014, by Future Classic. It was voted number seven on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2014. The song was scored for the " New MacBook – Reveal" video during the Apple Watch Event on 9 March 2015. The song was shortlisted for Song of the Year at the APRA Music Awards of 2015. Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Gold" was first released on YouTube on 12 August 2014 at a total length of four minutes and nineteen seconds. The video was directed by Hiro Murai and choreographed by Ryan Heffington. The skating and camera shots are done using practical effects created by driving down a road near Acton, California, shot in one night between sunset and sunrise.
