ISU Junior Grand Prix
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event and the six highest-ranking qualifiers meet at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, which is held concurrently with the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. Single Skating
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as two of the four figure skating events at the London Games in 1908. Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. 2023–24 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2023–24 ISU Junior Grand Prix was a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union that were held from August 2023 through December 2023. It was the junior-level complement to the 2023–24 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points based on their placement at each event and the top six in each discipline qualified to compete at the 2023–24 Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China. François Pitot (figure Skater)
François Pitot (born 4 January 2005) is a French figure skater. He is a two-time French national bronze medalist. At the junior level, Pitot is the 2024 French junior national champion, 2023 JGP Japan champion, the 2023 JGP Thailand silver medalist, and the 2021 JGP France I bronze medalist. Personal life Pitot was born on 4 January 2005 in Orléans, France. His figure skating idol is Nathan Chen. Career Early years Pitot began learning how to skate in 2012 at age seven. Yanhao "Dwayne" Li (; born 12 August 2008) is a New Zealand figure skater. He is the 2024 Youth Olympic bronze medalist, 2023 Junior Grand Prix Thailand bronze medalist, and 2024 Cranberry Cup International Junior Champion. He is the first New Zealand figure skater to qualify or medal at any Olympic event and to win a ISU Junior Grand Prix medal. Ami Nakai
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2023 World Junior bronze medalist, a three-time gold medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (at the 2022 JGP Poland II, the 2023 JGP Thailand, and the 2023 JGP Turkey), and the 2022–23 Japanese junior bronze medalist. Personal life Nakai was born on April 27, 2008 in Niigata, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. As a young child, she practiced rhythmic gymnastics before ultimately switching to figure skating.
