2023–24 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2023–24 ISU Junior Grand Prix was a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union that were held from August 2023 through December 2023. It was the junior-level complement to the 2023–24 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points based on their placement at each event and the top six in each discipline qualified to compete at the 2023–24 Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing, China. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change annually. This season, the series was composed of the following events: Entries Skaters who reached the age of 13 before July 1, 2023, but had not turned 19 (singles skaters and female pairs or ice dance skaters) or 21 (male pairs or ice dance skaters) were eligible to compete on the junior circuit. ISU Junior Grand Prix
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event and the six highest-ranking qualifiers meet at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, which is held concurrently with the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Kim Hyun-gyeom
Kim Hyun-gyeom (; born June 27, 2006) is a South Korean figure skater. He is the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic champion in both the men's and team events, the 2023–24 Junior Grand Prix Final silver medalist, a two-time ISU Junior Grand Prix medalist, the 2023 South Korean silver medalist, and the 2020 South Korean Junior bronze medalist. Personal life Kim was born on June 27, 2006, in Seoul, South Korea. Before he began figure skating, Kim played soccer. Kim can speak some Japanese as a result of his mother being fluent in the language. He also speaks a bit of English. He looks up to training mate, Cha Jun-hwan, citing him as an inspiration. Adam Hagara (born 26 April 2006) is a Slovak figure skater. He is the 2021 Tirnavia Ice Cup champion, 2022 Skate Helena champion, 2021 Skate Celje bronze medalist, 2021 Santa Claus Cup bronze medalist and Slovak national champion. Personal life Adam Hagara was born on 26 April 2006 in Trnava, Slovakia. He is the younger brother of Slovak figure skater Alexandra Hagarová. Yanhao "Dwayne" Li (; born 12 August 2008) is a New Zealand figure skater. He is the 2024 Youth Olympic bronze medalist, 2023 Junior Grand Prix Thailand bronze medalist, and 2024 Cranberry Cup International Junior Champion. François Pitot (born 4 January 2005) is a French figure skater. He is a two-time French national bronze medalist. 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships was held in Calgary, Canada, from February 27 to March 5, 2023. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2024 World Junior Championships. On March 1, 2022, the ISU banned figure skaters and officials from Russia and Belarus from attending all international competitions due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
