INS Teg (F45)
INS ''Teg'' (F45) is the fourth constructed for the Indian Navy. She was built by the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia, and was commissioned to Navy service on 27 April 2012. She is the first of the second batch of s to be completed. Design ''Teg'' belongs to the of frigates. The ''Talwar''-class guided missile frigates are modified Krivak III-class frigates built by Russia. These ships use stealth technologies and a special hull design to ensure a reduced radar cross section. Much of the equipment on the ship is Russian-made, but a significant number of systems of Indian origin have also been incorporated. The main differences between ''Teg'' and the earlier ''Talwar''-class ships are the use of BrahMos missiles in place of the Klub-N missiles and the use of AK-630 instead of Kashtan in the earlier ships. Talwar-class Frigates
The ''Talwar''-class frigates or Project 11356 are a class of Stealth technology, stealth guided missile frigates designed and built by Russia for the Indian Navy. The ''Talwar''-class guided missile frigates are the improved versions of the Krivak-class frigate#Nerei .28or Krivak III.29, Krivak III-class (Project 1135) frigates used by the Coast Guard (Russia), Russian Coast Guard. The Baltic Sea is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean that is enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden and the North and Central European Plain. The Kortik (russian: Кортик, "dirk") close-in weapon system (CIWS) is a modern naval air defence gun-missile system deployed by the Russian Navy. Its export version is known as Kashtan (russian: Каштан, English: Chestnut), with the NATO designation CADS-N-1 Kashtan. The Kortik is found on the Russian aircraft carrier '' Admiral Kuznetsov'', the , the , as well as the People's Liberation Army Navy ''Sovremenny''-class destroyers, and other modern designs. Typically deployed as a combined gun and missile system, it provides defence against anti-ship missiles, anti-radar missiles and guided bombs. A frigate () is a type of warship. In different eras, the roles and capabilities of ships classified as frigates have varied somewhat. The name frigate in the 17th to early 18th centuries was given to any full-rigged ship built for speed and maneuverability, intended to be used in scouting, escort and patrol roles.
