IFK Kungälv
IFK Kungälv is a sports club in Kungälv in Sweden, founded in 1940, and mostly concentrated on the sport of bandy. The club has been playing in the Swedish bandy top division Elitserien for many seasons, at present since 2008/09. The home kit is a red jersey, blue trousers, and red socks. The home arena is Skarpe Nord. The supporter club is called Skarpa Gubbar. As all IFK clubs in Sweden, IFK Kungälv is a member of Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna. On 8 April 2016 it was announced that the club had not fulfilled the requirements for elite licence and therefore was kicked out of Elitserien from the 2016/2017 season, with two weeks of possibility to appeal against the denial. Allsvenskan (bandy)
Allsvenskan (literally, "The All Swedish") ( sv, Allsvenskan i bandy) is since the 2007–08 the second highest level of bandy in Sweden and comprises 24 teams in two regional groups. This change was made when Allsvenskan and Elitserien were cancelled and a new top-tier called Elitserien was created. Structure During the first two years, Allsvenskan consisted of three groups with ten teams in each, i.e. a total of 30 teams. The groups were divided geographically, in Allsvenskan Norra (North), Allsvenskan Mellersta (Mid) and Allsvenskan Södra (South). For the third season, 2009–10, Allsvenskan was restructured into two groups, Norra and Södra, with 12 teams each, so there were only 24 teams left in total. Kungälv () (old no, Konghelle) is a city and the seat of Kungälv Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 22,768 inhabitants in 2010. In 2021, the main Kungälv - Ytterby - Kareby conurbation had a combined population approaching 30,000. In total, the whole municipality had 47,050 inhabitants. Elitserien (bandy)
The Elitserien (literally, the "Elite League") ( sv, Elitserien i bandy) is since the 2007–08 season the highest bandy league in Sweden. It consists of 14 teams. The season ends with one final game in March. The final was held at Studenternas IP in Uppsala from 1991 until 2012. In 2013 and 2014 the final was played at Friends Arena in Solna, and from 2015 to 2017 it was played at the Tele2 Arena. The final returned to 4,600-capacity Studenternas IP indoor stadium in 2018. Season structure During the regular season the fourteen teams play each other team at home and away - a total of 26 games per team. The top six teams directly qualify for the playoffs for the league championship, while the teams ranked from 7th to 10th enter an additional play-off to decide which teams take the other two championship play-off places. The Swedish Bandy Association ( sv, Svenska Bandyförbundet) is the governing body of bandy in Sweden. It organizes the bandy leagues, Elitserien and Allsvenskan for men and Damallsvenskan for women, and the men's and women's national teams. It was established in Stockholm on 5 April 1925, and is based in Stockholm, after moving from Katrineholm. It is a founding member of FIB, Federation of International Bandy. Bandy was introduced 1895 in Sweden by all round athlete Clarence von Rosen. He picked the game up during a visit in bandy's home country Great Britain. He started the first bandy club in Sweden, Stockholm Hockeyklubb. First in 1905 bandy was organized within Swedish Ballgame Association and a year later within Swedish Football Association. IK Tellus is a Swedish sports club, having teams in football, bandy and handball. The club is located in Tellusborg, Stockholm. Background Tellusborgs IF was formed on 11 April 1921 and brought together several disparate groups of youngsters in Tellusborg after much negotiation.
