IFK Hässleholm
IFK Hässleholm is a Swedish football club from Hässleholm that was established in 1905. The team is currently playing in Division 2 Östra Götaland. Several well known players have played at the club including England international striker Peter Crouch as well as Swedish footballers Jon Jönsson, Andreas Dahl, and Tobias Linderoth. In recent years the club has played in Division 2, which is the fourth tier of the Swedish football league system. However, the club has played in second-tier football (Division 1 Södra and Division 2 Södra) in 1972–1974, 1975–81, 1987–1988, and 1992–1998. Background The club was first established by factory owners and football enthusiast Knut Rydlund in 1905. When the club first started, the team played at Linnaeus Flats until Göinge Vallen was built in 1910. Skåne County ( sv, Skåne län, link=no ), sometimes referred to as Scania County in English, is the most southern county, or , of Sweden, basically corresponding to the traditional province Scania. Alton Thelwell
Alton Anthony Thelwell (born 5 September 1980) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Career Thelwell was born in Islington, London. He began his career at Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he made twenty-one appearances in league and cup competitions. In the summer of 2000, IFK Hässleholm of the fourth-highest division in Sweden, sold Jon Jönsson to Tottenham for £70,000 and also agreed two loan deals for the Swedish club - that of Thelwell and Peter Crouch. He also won one England under-21 cap on 27 February 2001, as a substitute in the 4–0 defeat at home to Spain U21. However injuries robbed him of further first-team opportunities at Spurs, and he was released by then boss Glenn Hoddle in 2003. Thelwell signed for Hull City on 13 June 2003 by manager Peter Taylor after being released from Tottenham. He scored on his debut against Darlington. Ayanda Nkili
Ayanda Nkili (born 11 September 1990) is a South African footballer who plays as a defender for Marumo Gallants. Club career Early career Nkili started his career at the Stars of Africa football academy in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2010, he signed his first professional contract with Division 2 side IFK Hässleholm. He became the fourth Stars of Africa graduate to play in Sweden, following in the footsteps of May Mahlangu, Tokelo Rantie and Bradley Ralani. May Mahlangu
May Mahlangu (born 1 May 1989) is a South African professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder. Club career Early career Mahlangu joined the Stars of Africa Academy at age 15 and played for their team Alexandra United FC. Helsingborgs IF Bo Nilsson was the manager of Allsvenskan club Helsingborgs IF in 2008 and through his connections with the academy he brought over Mahlangu to Sweden. Nilsson set it up so that Mahlangu would train with both Helsingborg and fourth tier club IFK Hässleholm each day, and that he would initially play league games for Hässleholm. Malmö Fotbollförening, commonly known as Malmö FF, Malmö, or MFF, is a professional football club and the most successful football club in Sweden in terms of trophies won. Tokelo Anthony Rantie (born 8 September 1990) is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a striker for the South Africa national team. Club career Early career Born in Parys, Free State, Rantie started his career in different academies, most notably the Stars of Africa Academy in his native South Africa. Gabestar was his mentor. He proceeded to move to Ferroviário de Beira in 2010 and later CD Maxaquene in neighbouring Mozambique.
