ICL-TNSRA Squash Academy
Indian Squash Academy (also known as ICL-TNSRA Squash Academy) is a squash training facility established by the Squash Racquets Federation of India (SRFI) in Chennai, India. The India Cements was one of the sponsors it had initially sponsored the 1990 facility along with the Tamil Nadu Squash Racquets Association (TNSRA). It has trained several squash players such as Saurav Ghosal, Joshna Chinapa, Dipika Pallikal and Manish Chotrani. History The academy was established as a joint venture between India Cements, SRFI, TNSRA and Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu in 2000. N. Ramachandran who was an industrialist and the president of TNSRA is said to be the one behind its creation. Initially, the facility had three courts from ASB Germany which was later accompanied by five additional ones. The facility has hosted the 2007 Men's World Team Squash Championships. Naresh Kumar (tennis Player)
Naresh Kumar ( hi, नरेश कुमार; pa, ਨਰੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ, نریش کُمار) (22 December 1928 – 14 September 2022) was an Indian tennis player. He was the captain of the India Davis Cup team from 1989 to 1993. Early life Kumar was born in Lahore, Punjab, British India on 22 December 1928. Playing career Kumar played his first tournament at the 1949 Indian International Championships and reached the semi-finals. In the spring of 1949, he reached the final of the Northern Championships in England before losing to Tony Mottram. Later that year, he lost to George Worthington in the final of the East of England Championships. He began playing in the India Davis Cup team in 1952 and represented India for the ensuing eight years. Kumar advanced to the final of the 1950 Bombay tournament before losing to Narendra Nath in four sets. Lakshmi Shruti Settipalli (born 12 June 1996) is an Indian squash player. She was ranked 30 in the junior European circut at the end of 2012. She played as a professional when she was seventeen, achieving a world ranking of 145 in August 2013. Early life Lakshmi Shruti was born on 12 June 1996 in Chennai. Anwesha Reddy (born 3 September 1991) is an Indian female squash player. She was a member of the Indian women's squash team which claimed bronze medal at the 2010 Asian Games though she was considered as a non participant during the team event. Ramit Tandon (born 21 August 1992 in Kolkata) is a professional squash player who represents India. He is ranked number 35 in the world and India #2 (April 2019). He turned pro in 2018 and has won 4 PSA tour titles since then. He’s an Asian Games Bronze Medalist. He also represented India at the Gold Coast CWG 2018.
