The Höganäs Ladies Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour in 1984 and 1985, and on the Swedish Golf Tour between 1986 and 1994. Höganäs () (old da, Højenæs) is a locality and the seat of Höganäs Municipality, Scania County, Sweden with 14,107 inhabitants in 2010. Höganäs is nationally known for its ceramics industry, Höganäs Keramik. Höganäs Keramik is part of Iittala Group. Höganäs has the main office of Höganäs AB, one of the world's biggest iron powder manufacturer with subsidiaries around the world. The Höganäs AB company was founded by Count Eric Ruuth in 1797 which makes it one of Sweden's oldest companies. History Höganäs began as a small fishing village in the parish of Väsby, documented in 1488 in the written form ''Høyenæss''. In the middle of the 17th century it had 17 homes. Coal was found in the area, and mining started in 1797. In 1798 a railway with wooden rails was built. Anna Carin Pernilla Hjalmarsson Koch (née Hjalmarsson; born 23 February 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer who previously played on the Ladies European Tour and on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was captain of the 2015 European Solheim Cup team. Amateur career Carin Koch had a successful amateur career. Pia Nilsson (golfer)
Pia Nilsson (born 8 May 1958) is a Sweden, Swedish professional golfer and coach. She was one of the two players, who were the first female Swedes to play collegiate golf at a University in the United States and the first Swede to captain a European Solheim Cup team. Early years Born in Malmö, Nilsson began playing golf at around 10 years of age, with her family at Torekov Golf Club in another part of Scania in southern Sweden, when they spend their summers there. At 14 years of age, her handicap had gone down to 10. In her golf career, she later also came to represent Ystad Golf Club, Jönköping Golf Club, Ljunghusen Golf Club and Lidingö Golf Club. The 1987 Swedish Golf Tour was the second season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden. Tournament Director for a second year was Ulf Jacobsson, and player representative was Liv Wollin. Tournaments were played over 54 holes with no cut, the SI and LET events over 72 holes with cuts.
