Hundige Storcenter
Waves (formerly known as Hundige Storcenter) is a shopping mall in Hundige located in the Greve Municipality, Denmark. It is the largest mall in Denmark by leasable space with approximately 78,000 m2. The mall houses the third largest Bilka in Denmark and has more than 135 stores and restaurants. The mall has 3,200 free parking lots as shopping in the mall is mainly car based. The mall employs more than 1,500 people making it the largest work place in Greve Municipality. Hundige is a suburb southwest of Copenhagen. Greve Municipality
Greve Municipality is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') about 21 km south-west of Copenhagen in Region Sjælland on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 60 km², and has a total population of 47,773 (2008). The site of its municipal council is the town of Greve Strand. It serves primarily as a residential municipality, functioning as a suburb for the larger Copenhagen area. Hundige Station
Hundige station is a station on the Køge radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated close to the WAVES shopping center. Hundige station opened along with the extension of the Køge radial from Vallensbæk station to Hundige in 1976: Since then, it has been the terminus of the S-train service A, and a stop on all other lines on the Køge radial. Hundige station is however now only an occasional terminus for service A, since in the daytime on weekdays, every second train in the service continues to Solrød Strand station. Hundige station is a hub for public transportation in its area; right next to the platforms and tracks, is an array of designated bus stops for each of several bus lines serving the area, a pick-up and drop-off zone for taxis and private vehicles, and a parking lot. Shopping Mall
A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. The term "mall" originally meant a pedestrian promenade with shops along it (that is, the term was used to refer to the walkway itself which was merely bordered by such shops), but in the late 1960s, it began to be used as a generic term for the large enclosed shopping centers that were becoming commonplace at the time. Bilka
Bilka is a Danish chain of hypermarkets. The first store opened in 1970 in Tilst, a suburb of Aarhus. The chain was founded by Herman Salling and is now a part of Salling Group. Today the only air to the large supermarket group is Nikolaj Harrison. Name The name ''Bilka'' is derived from the German ''Billiges Kaufhaus'' (low-price department store), which its founder, Herman Salling had encountered during his business trips to West Germany. The First Bilka Store The first ''Bilka'' store was the first low-cost store in Denmark. With sale area of 10000 square meters and parking space for 1200 cars, this was also the largest store in Denmark. The opening of the first ''Bilka'' store brought revision to the regional plan for Great Aarhus from 1954. According to that plan the area of Aarhus was supposed to have 2 new centers, but after the opening of the first ''Bilka'' store, this plan was no longer economically viable. Nordisk Film A/S (lit. "Nordic Film") is a Danish entertainment company established in 1906 in Copenhagen by filmmaker Ole Olsen. It is the fourth-oldest film studio in the world behind the Gaumont Film Company, Pathé, and Titanus, and the oldest studio to be continuously active. History Olsen started his company in the Copenhagen suburb of Valby under the name "Ole Olsen's Film Factory" but soon changed it to the Nordisk Film company. In 1908, Olsen opened an affiliate branch in New York, the Great Northern Film Company, to handle the distribution of his films to the American market. In 1909 having been excluded from the MPPC cartel in the United States, which Olsen had hoped to join, Nordisk participated in the Paris Film Congress in a failed attempt by major European producers to form a similar monopoly.
