Hummingbird (film)
''Hummingbird'' (released as ''Redemption'' in the United States) is a 2013 British action crime film written and directed by Steven Knight, in his feature film directorial debut. It stars Jason Statham as an alcoholic veteran haunted by his war crimes; he befriends a Catholic nun, becomes involved in organised crime, and takes revenge on a man who beats and kills prostitutes. Plot Joseph Smith, a fugitive ex- Special Forces soldier and a homeless drunk in London, is attacked by a group of thugs one night, and he breaks into an apartment to escape them. Learning that the owner, a successful photographer named Damon, is away for the next 8 months until October, Joseph starts squatting there and assumes a new identity, calling himself Joey Jones and using Damon's resources while looking for his homeless friend Isabel who has been coerced into becoming a prostitute by the same gang that attacked him. Steven Knight
Steven Knight (born 1 April 1959) is a British screenwriter, film director and film producer. Knight wrote the screenplays for the films ''Closed Circuit'', '' Dirty Pretty Things'', and '' Eastern Promises'', and also wrote and directed the films '' Locke'' and '' Hummingbird'' (a.k.a. ''Redemption''). Siobhan Hewlett is a British-born Irish film, television, radio and theatre actress as well as being a producer, poet and artist. She hails from a theatrical dynasty stretching back to the 19th-century. Dai Bradley
David "Dai" Bradley (born 27 September 1953) is an English actor known for his debut role of Billy Casper in the critically acclaimed 1969 film '' Kes'', directed by Ken Loach. Early life David Bradley was born in the hamlet of Stubbs, near Barnsley. His mother was Nora, a seamstress, and his father was Horace "Pop" Bradley, a miner who worked from North Gawber Colliery. Youssef Kerkour is a Moroccan-British actor. He is best known for portraying Syrian refugee Sami in the comedy-drama series '' Home'', a role for which he was nominated at the 2020 British Academy Television Awards.
