Huang Peilie
Huang Pilie (; 1763-1825) was a Chinese bibliophile from Suzhou. He collected and sold books for over 40 years. He owned a bookstore called ''Pangxi Yuan'' (English: ''the Garden of Rushing Happiness''). The bookstore opened in 1825 and he died the same year. His store sold many genres of books, ranging from pornography to academic works. Huang annotated the books in his own collection. The World Digital Library (WDL) is an international digital library operated by UNESCO and the United States Library of Congress. The WDL has stated that its mission is to promote international and intercultural understanding, expand the volume and variety of cultural content on the Internet, provide resources for educators, scholars, and general audiences, and to build capacity in partner institutions to narrow the digital divide within and among countries.
