Hrvoje Horvat Jr.
Hrvoje "Cveba" Horvat (born 16 December 1977) is a Croatian handball coach and retired handball player. Early life Born in the family of mother Dunja and father Hrvoje Horvat, one of the worlds best handballplayers of the 20th Century and gold medalist from the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, the younger Hrvoje finished primary and secondary school in his native Bjelovar, while in Zagreb he graduated from the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Kinesiology. Playing career Horvat started playing handball at ORK Partizan from Bjelovar, where his first coach was Krunoslav "Kuna" Turković. Later he played for RK Zagreb and RK Dubrava, with short stints in Switzerland and Germany. He was a member of national teams of whole age categories under the Croatian Handball Federation, including several appearances for the senior team. Bjelovar
Bjelovar ( hu, Belovár, german: Bellowar, Kajkavian: ''Belovar'') is a city in central Croatia. It is the administrative centre of Bjelovar-Bilogora County. At the 2021 census, there were 36,433 inhabitants, of whom 93.06% were Croats. History The oldest Neolithic location in this area is in Ždralovi, a suburb of Bjelovar, where, while building a basement for the house of Josip Horvatić, a dugout was found and identified as belonging to the Starčevo culture (5000 – 4300 BC). Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. 2018–19 EHF Cup
The 2018–19 EHF Cup was the 38th edition of the EHF Cup, the second most important European handball club competition organised by the European Handball Federation (EHF), and the sixth edition since the merger with the EHF Cup Winners' Cup. 2018–19 SEHA League
The 2018–19 SEHA League season was the eighth season of the SEHA (South East Handball Association) League and fifth under the sponsorship of the Russian oil and gas company Gazprom. Ten teams from seven countries (Belarus, Croatia, Republic of North Macedonia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania) were participating in this year's competition. RK Vardar, Vardar were the defending champions. The SEHA League consists of two phases – the first one has 18 rounds in which all teams played one home and one away games against each other. Afterwards, the four best ranked clubs played on the Final Four tournament. Final four tournament was held in Brest, Belarus, Brest, Republic of Belarus, on 2nd and 3 April. SEHA League
South East Handball Association League or simply SEHA League is a regional men's club handball league in Southeast and East Europe, divided in two zones. Due to sponsorship reasons, the league is also known as the Gazprom League (or Gazprom South Stream League earlier). The league exists alongside scaled-down national leagues of the participating nations and all of SEHA League teams join their respective country's own competitions in late spring after the SEHA League regular season and post-season have been completed. Croatian Handball Premier League
The Croatian Handball Premier League ( hr, Hrvatska rukometna premijer liga) is the highest men's handball league in Croatia. It is organized by the Croatian Handball Federation (''Hrvatski rukometni savez''). The league comprises 16 teams. The league was formed in 1991 with the dissolution of the Yugoslav leagues. Format In the first phase, eight teams from two groups compete in a home-and-away round-robin series. All teams advance from the regular season to one of two postseason stages, depending on their league position. The top four teams from the regular season play in the Championship Round, while the bottom four teams play in the Relegation Round. RK Bjelovar (Rukometni Klub Bjelovar) is a team handball club from Bjelovar, Croatia formed in 1955. The club currently competes in the Croatian Second League of Handball (North) and the Croatian Handball Cup. During Communist Yugoslavia, the club was known as Partizan, named after the Second World War's Yugoslav Partisans. After Croatian independence in 1991, the current name was adopted.
