Houshang Golshiri
Houshang Golshiri ( fa, هوشنگ گلشیری; March 16, 1938''A Hundred Years of Storytelling in Iran'', Amir Abedini, p. 274. – June 5, 2000) was an Iranian fiction writer, critic and editor. He was one of the first Iranian writers to use modern literary techniques, and is recognized as one of the most influential writers of Persian prose of the 20th century. Biography Early life Golshiri was born in Isfahan in 1938 and raised in Abadan. He came from a large family of modest circumstances. From 1955 to 1974, Golshiri lived in Isfahan, where he completed a bachelor's degree in Persian at the University of Isfahan and taught elementary and high school there and in surrounding towns. Writing career Golshiri began writing fiction in the late 1950s. Islamic Republic
The term Islamic republic has been used in different ways. Some Muslim religious leaders have used it as the name for a theoretical form of Islamic theocratic government enforcing sharia, or laws compatible with sharia. The term has also been used for a sovereign state taking a compromise position between a purely Islamic caliphate and a secular, nationalist republic -- neither an Islamic monarchy nor secular republic. In other cases it is used merely as a symbol of cultural identity. Ali Zare Ghanat Nowi
Ali Zare Ghanatnowi ( fa, علی زارع قنات نوی) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, translator, cinema teacher, graphic designer, cameraman, and film producer. An active film-maker from 2000, he had been involved in over twenty films, including animations, shorts, and documentaries. Zare attained critical acclaim for directing ''Empty View'' (2017) and ''Dad's Fragile Doll'' (2013) which was awarded the best animation of International Open Film Festival (IOFF). His other film ''Empty View'' has won multiple international awards, including the best animation of Asians On Film (first award and the best film music). The music part in ''Empty View'' is made by Mohammadreza Aligholi. ''Empty view'' has been in the official selections for the best animation in Edmonton International Film Festival in Canada. Bahman Farmanara
Bahman Farmanara ( fa, بهمن فرمانآرا, Bahman Farmānārā; born 23 January 1942) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and film producer. Bahman Farmanara is the second son in a family of four brothers and one sister. The family business was Textile and he was the only son who did not join the business and went off to the United Kingdom and later on to the United States to study acting and directing. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in Cinema in 1966. After returning to Iran and doing military service, he joined the National Iranian Radio and Television. Hooshang Golshiri Literary Awards
The Hooshang Golshiri Literary Award is an Iranian literary award notable for being one of the few literary awards in Iran that is run by a non-governmental organization. Established in 2000, the award is sponsored by the non-profit Golshiri Foundation. The award focuses on modern contemporary Iranian literature. It is named in honor of Hooshang Golshiri, one of the most distinguished pioneers of Iranian modern fiction, who died in 2000. The first award was given in 2001 (1380 Solar Hijri calendar). Meningitis is acute or chronic inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord, collectively called the meninges. Erich Maria Remarque (, ; born Erich Paul Remark; 22 June 1898 – 25 September 1970) was a German-born novelist.
