Hong Kong Community College
Hong Kong Community College (HKCC) was established in 2001 and is a subsidiary of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. HKCC offers associate degree and higher diploma programmes spanning the domains of arts, science, social sciences, business and the specialised areas of design and health studies for secondary school leavers. Initially located on the PolyU campus, HKCC now has two campuses separated from the university. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a public research university located in Hung Hom, Hong Kong near Hung Hom station. The University is one of the eight government-funded degree-granting tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Hung Hom
Hung Hom () is an area in the southeast of Kowloon Peninsula, Hong Kong. Including the area of Whampoa, Tai Wan, Hok Yuen, Lo Lung Hang and No. 12 Hill are administratively part of the Kowloon City District, with a portion west of Hung Hom Bay in the Yau Tsim Mong District. Yau Ma Tei is an area in the Yau Tsim Mong District in the south of the Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong. Name ''Yau Ma Tei'' is a phonetic transliteration of the name (originally written as ) in Cantonese. It can also be spelt as Yaumatei, Yau Ma Ti, Yaumati or Yau-ma-Tee. ''Yau'' ( 油) literally means "oil", ''Ma'' ( 麻 or 蔴) can either refer to "sesame" or "jute", and ''Tei'' (地) means "field" or "open ground". Charming Garden () is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong, built on reclaimed land of the old Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. Lau Siu-lai (; born 3 August 1976) is a Hong Kong educator, academic, activist, and politician. She is a sociology lecturer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's Hong Kong Community College and the founder of Democracy Groundwork and Age of Resistance. Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit ( zh, t=岑子杰; born 29 June 1987) is a Hong Kong pro-democracy and LGBT rights activist. He served as a convener for the pro-democracy organisation Civil Human Rights Front (CHRF) until October 2020 and serves as a secretary for the LGBT rights organisation Rainbow of Hong Kong.
