Hobart Zebras FC
Hobart Zebras Football Club (also known as ''Tilford Zebras'' or just ''Zebras'') was an association football club based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The club is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in Tasmania. It competes in competitions run by the governing body Football Federation Tasmania, including the NPL Tasmania. The club uses the colours of Juventus F.C. and have historical ties and links to the club. They merged with Clarence United FC after the 2019 season to form Clarence Zebras FC. History The club was founded in 1956 under the name "Juventus Soccer Club". The club competed on the national stage in the 1985 and 1986 NSL Cup competitions. They were primarily known as "Hobart Juventus" until 1997. In 1997, Australian soccer made the decision to end ethnic affiliations between Australian football teams, as a result the club changed its name to Hobart Zebras FC in 1998. KGV Park
KGV Park, or simply KGV (King George V) is home to Football Federation Tasmania, the governing body for association football in Tasmania, and home to the Glenorchy Knights football team. It is referred to as the Home of Football in Tasmania. It is located in the heart of Glenorchy less than 1 kilometre from the Glenorchy CBD, 7 kilometres from Hobart City. Current use KGV is home to the Glenorchy Knights football club who play home matches in the NPL Tasmania and lower grades at the ground. It is also used for all major football matches played in the South of Tasmania, including Statewide Cup Finals and Statewide Finals Series Matches. In 2010, A-League side Central Coast Mariners played a Tasmanian representative side in front of a crowd of around 2,000 people. The Tasmanian soccer championship describes the method of determining the best soccer club in Tasmania, Australia. The championship has been decided using three different formats; a statewide league, a playoff between Northern and Southern league Champions and lastly a statewide finals system with top teams from Northern and Southern leagues. Formats Tasmanian Statewide League The Tasmanian Statewide League was the highest state-level competition in Tasmania prior to being disbanded in 2000. Nationally, it was on par with Australia's other state leagues, below the National Soccer League.
